Ergon House, which is actually a hotel, has a market and restaurant on the ground floor, where they also serve customers from outside the hotel. This review is about the market and especially the restaurant. We shop from time to time in the market where you can find different snack products, wines, fresh vegetables and fruits and we are satisfied. Due to the appetizers that caught our attention in the market before, we sat down thinking that the restaurant might be mainly appetizers for some reason. When the menu came we were surprised to see that they had many main dishes and we decided to try it. We ordered veal liver with lemon and olive oil for me, Bougatsa with bacon for my wife and grilled vegetable salad to eat together. Our beverage preference was open wines. The Çiğer was cooked in large chunks and was fabulously delicious, apart from being a little salty. The salad was also very varied, fresh, well cooked and delicious. Unfortunately, we found Bougatsa too sweet for a main course. Portions of all meals were quite large and satisfying. That's why we ate our favorite liver and vegetable salad together and had a snack from Bougatsa for dessert. The wine, which we can call House Wine, went well with the meal as we expected. Although Bougatsa didn't appeal to us, overall it was one of the best meals we had in Athens. The employees were also very polite and sincere from the first to the last moment. It is a restaurant that I want to try other main dishes in its menu and I would definitely recommend.

Review just for the restaurant for brunch and deli area: a bit confusing when you first walk in the circular area with the small tree in the middle. the host/hostess desk (if there is one) is not well known. We just asked one of the baristas at the coffee station and they just pointed us to the lady sitting people. Other people were standing on the other side not knowing where or who to approach. Others just sat down straight because they didn’t know. Overall service is okay, nothing out of the ordinary; if anything, probably a bit less attentive than many places we’ve been to after being in Greece for 2 weeks. Brunch menu is mostly typical American brunch food with a touch of Greek specialties added into the mix. Overall we enjoyed our food and felt full. Athens is full of these brunch types of restaurants/cafes, and while this place came highly recommended to us, and was close to where we were staying, I wouldn’t go out of my way next time to come here. The overall deli/marketplace is similar to EATALY, wherein you have a market and specialty products plus a restaurant, desserts, ice cream, coffee, etc all under one roof.

would come back here for the peinirli alone it was so great!! we got the one with beef, lamb, cheese, yogurt with spicy peppers on top. the sourdough bread had an incredible texture and the flavors were also perfection. the pita brought to the table was also great. fried squid was good but I prefer it to have some sort of dipping sauce or aioli personally. The jacket potatoes with poached egg, goat cheese, and pastirma was good but a bit salty for my taste due to the seasoned potatoes and cured meat together (my husband loved it though). our friend ordered the pork chop and was expecting it to be on the bone as pork chops usually are, but instead it was grilled cutlets of pork which may have been a translation misunderstanding. overall we had a very pleasant service experience and would come back again to try other things on the menu. I do recommend making a reservation because the only seating available for walk ins on a busy Friday night was by the cold front door. P.S. this place smells amazing like maple syrup and the attached market has some great finds at reasonable prices

Just had an incredible dinner at ERGON House in Athens, and it was an experience to remember! 🍽️ Located in the heart of the city, ERGON House is not just a restaurant but a unique culinary hub that combines traditional Greek flavors with modern gastronomy. The concept behind ERGON began as a gourmet deli brand, showcasing the best of Greek artisanal products, and evolved into this vibrant space where food lovers can indulge in authentic, high-quality dishes. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and each bite is a celebration of Greece’s rich culinary heritage. If you’re in Athens, dining at ERGON House is a must! #ERGONHouse #AthensDining #GreekCuisine #CulinaryExperience #AuthenticFlavors #GreekGastronomy #FoodLovers #AthensFoodScene #GreekHeritage #DinnerInAthens #GourmetExperience #TraditionalMeetsModern #TasteOfGreece #FoodieAdventures #GreekArtisanal #ERGONDeli #AthensEats #CulinaryJourney #GastronomicDelight #ExploreAthens #GreekFoodCulture #MediterraneanCuisine #FoodAndTravel #CulinaryHub #AthensGourmet #DiningInStyle #GourmetAthens #GreekFoodie

Food was a 10/10 HOWEVER the service was TERRIBLE! I was so excited to go here & they ruined my whole experience. I ordered a fish & my bf ordered a pork chop (which I think they got his order wrong too) His food came & mine never came… Our server also left without saying anything. We saw her change & leave the building, so I had to flag down a bus boy to help. The other server was completely ignoring me when I tried to flag her down because we weren’t her table. After about an hour of waiting for my food & watching my boyfriend eat his, I just asked them to cancel the order. The manager came said no I can’t cancel because fish is almost done & forced me to take my food. She looked angry as well like she wanted to fight. At this point I was ready to leave.. We asked for a Togo box 3x before they finally came & when they did come to box it, I asked for them to box the sauce that came with the fish. Once I got home, no sauce & looked like there was a Blondish hair in my fish. Left feeling very upset & disappointed as this is my birthday vacation.

Loveeeed the food at Ergon house, particularly the Vegan Lahmatzoun made with made beyond meat. We stopped here whilst looking for our first meal in Athens after a long flight from Australia. We saw tofu scramble on the menu and decided to go in despite higher prices. We got the Vegan Lahmatzoun made beyond meat and the falafels with potato (which were actually fries, I’d not get this next time mostly because falafels are something I eat a lot, but these were made with fava beans so I thought I’d try them). The Vegan Lahmatzoun is a must try for any vegan visiting Athens. It’s absolutely scrumptious and my vegetarian husband said it’s one of the best vegan things he has had. I am still thinking about their other vegan options on the menu and would love to go back and try them. Worth the visit and price of food. Also enjoyed two oat milk coffee which satisfied our coffee cravings. The service was friendly, but they were very busy so it was a bit slow. It’s clearly a popular space. Also loved the fresh produce displayed.
