Visited here twice this week, first time they did not have pork gyros available at 4:30 PM, apparently that is pretty common here because they feel they can provide better quality making one big batch a day and when it runs out, it’s gone for the day. Fair enough, sort of limited gyro hours within their open hours. So I came early and even got seated right away. Well yes indeed, their pork gyro wraps are excellent, well made, great ingredients, fair price, tasty, and one fills you up — loved it. They are 5 star for sure. The fries to me were nothing special, but good. The beeftekakia gyro wrap was pretty good owing to the same great ingredients, the hamburger beef was fine for what it was but it seemed to have no seasoning or at least subtle seasoning that my old worn out taste buds did not detect. Still very good, but not exciting to my personal taste (in contrast to the pork). All the staff here are super attentive (especially considering how busy they are) and pleasant. Service is quick. As demand for their product is high, and capacity limited compared to demand, there were about 10+ people waiting at all times as I ate around 1:00 PM on a Monday. The outdoor seating is okay, in a street basically, fun, but they do use the “feet attacking” standards tables here which seem to be an Athens-wide way of keeping people with big feet just comfortable enough to eat but not dwell. Highly recommend this place for the food and the experience but be here at the right time and be ready to wait a bit...
Read moreI visited this place with my parents when it first opened, and I can honestly say I was lucky enough to be one of the very first guests to try the food. Back then, the owner herself served the dishes and passionately explained what we were eating – something that’s become so rare these days. From the very beginning, we were enchanted by the food, the cozy and charming atmosphere, and the personal touch that made the whole experience feel special.
During our vacation back then, we ended up eating here almost every day – that’s how much we loved it. Now, years later, I’ve returned, and I have to say: nothing has changed. The food still tastes absolutely incredible, just like it did on day one. The only thing that has grown is the popularity. There are now lines of people waiting to eat here, and the owner has a team of servers supporting her.
What impressed me the most this time is how incredibly kind, calm, and welcoming the staff remain – even with the crowds and pressure. That reflects directly on the way the owner leads her team: with compassion, respect, and grace. You can feel the strong, positive leadership in every interaction – it’s rare and beautiful.
It’s amazing to see how far this place has come, while staying true to its soul, its quality, and its heart. For me, this remains one of the best culinary experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re nearby, do yourself a favor and try it. You’ll be...
Read moreWas looking for a bite on my way to the airport. Took an order to go- the serivce was really good. Waiting time was okay. Going back to the food- ordered two souvlakis. My first impression was good pita seemed toasted slightly. From this point it only got worse. French fries were tiny and quickly got soft and unapetising. Pita became soaked with the sauce and all was lacking spicing and salt. To get to the meat you had to bite through soaked pita. Meat was tasty but i found a chewy piece. I was really disappointed. Another thing is a price point- 4.10 for one very average and bland souvlaki. You can move out of the touristic centre and taste amazing packed with meat and tzatziki souvlaki for 3-3.50 (and its not about the price difference but more about price/quality ratio). And yes i know that when you order souvlaki to go you need to be aware of it getting moist. I had multiple orders during my stay but the stucture of others was much better and much rich with ingridients. Wont...
