My friend and I had been looking through the many restaurants on offer in this area, and there are many.. some good, some touristy and some money traps.
We decided to stop at Flint on a whim, and we were not disappointed! The food is exceptional and the service friendly and fast.. They were very busy but we didnt wait on the food or drinks and everything was presented beautifully and with care.
We had the Mushroom bruschetta and dolmades to start: both super fresh, flavourful and they were wonderfully unexpected large portions too. We then had the fish and octopus main dishes and these were so fresh, well cooked and well flavoured/seasoned, we were in heaven.
I had an Aperol Sptirz and a tequila and my friend a simple tonic water and by the time the bill came, we could NOT believe how well priced everything was. We will definitely be headed back before we leave Athens to try more dishes.
Note for English speaking tourists: Most of the waiter staff speak english AND they have an English version of their menu. The cocktails are on special all day.. €7 for one so this place hands down beats any other if youre in the mood to drink.. My cocktail was strong and flavourful so they dont water down anything, its just an amazing special! The restaurant is cool (heat wise,) and beautiful inside and outside BUT dont miss the chance to go inside and sit or at least have a look.. the space is larger...

As you walk in to the restaurant, the aromas from the kitchen instantly kickstart your stomach. Unique cocktails they’ve devised are the perfect start to the evening (the gin basil was by far my favorite). Launching into appetizers, the hummus is homemade daily, full of fresh garlic, cumin, and tahini. The dolmades exemplify the concept that food doesn’t need to be complicated to be incredible, just fresh with quality ingredients.
Staples like the baby grilled calamari are extraordinary, daily fresh catches from the market evoking the subtle ocean brininess that makes this dish so sublime. The souvlaki and gyros were on point as well, highlighting great cooking techniques over gimmicky recipes to drive home an incredible meal.
So do yourself a favor. If you find yourself wandering around Monastiraki in search of an incredible meal, a beautiful atmosphere, and overall a world class culinary experience, look no further than Flint.
