Koukatsi — Restaurant in Athens

This food was absolutely delicious and I would visit again, especially since it was very well priced. My appetizers were the double-baked potatos and grevia cheese balls, the cheese balls were mid but the potatoes had an incredible texture and they were served with mashed and smoked eggplants which reminded me of Texas barbeque.

My main course was the rabbit with the bulbs of Earth and it was zesty and falling off the bone. My friends had the burger filled with grevia cheese and chicken skewers with roasted tomatoes and Greek yogurt with dill, mint, olive oil and lemon and it was a perfect blend with the creamyness of the yogurt which was perfectly viscous yet stable because it didn't even move when I turned the bowl upside down, all was delicious.

They even gave us a free shot of tsikoudia which went down smooth and watermelon slices for free. I was expecting to pay around 90 euros for how extravagant and delicious the meal was but 2 appetizers, and 3 entrees came up to 48 euros without tip. We tipped 23 euros bc even though we had to wait a little longer for the food, it was worth it and there was only one waitress running around and the place was busy. I just came from visiting Rome and Naples where all they have is varieties of pizza and spaghetti so this was a welcome...

I had one of the most unpleasant dining experiences of my life at this restaurant. The service was shockingly bad. The waitresses were not only impolite but outright aggressive, making us feel unwelcome right from the start. Their demeanor and tone were incredibly off-putting, and any request from us seemed to irritate them further.

Moreover, the lady that claimed to be the manager was no better and seemed to condone this behaviour. When we tried to express our concerns about the service, the manager dismissed us rudely without any attempt to address our complaints. It was clear that customer satisfaction was the least of their concerns. I left the restaurant feeling disrespected and appalled by the treatment we received. Staff were not very friendly when we arrived.

We proceeded to order and only then were told that we could only pay cash as their machine was not working. This meant we had to leave at the end of our meal to find an ATM and withdrawal some cash - not very convenient.

A staff member was also smoking right by our table which was unpleasant.

We ordered the snails, potatoes & potatoes w/cheese and green salad for starters. Then ordered the chicken skews, risotto, risotto w/goat and lamb for mains. Definitely quite a bit of food.

The snails were fine, potatoes and salad were nice. The risotto was quite salty and the goat was not stewed at all - basically just boiled. The lamb and chicken skews were good though.
