Managing a food service restaurant myself, I know what good customer service looks like. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my experience at MS Roof Garden. Initially, we stopped at the fourth floor (the rooftop) for drinks. When they seated us, the table still had trash on it. After a few minutes, someone came to clean it. A couple of minutes later, they took our order. After receiving and finishing our drinks, we waited around 15 minutes before asking a server for our bill. Another 15 minutes passed, and we saw the server with her hands on her hips, looking around—clearly forgetting that we had asked for the bill.
Despite this, we paid and decided to continue our experience at MS Roof Garden by having dinner on the third floor. We were promptly seated at a table for four, despite there only being two of us, and they took our order. After five minutes, our drinks arrived: one beer and one semi-sweet red wine, the same wine I had ordered upstairs. However, they brought the correct beer but a white wine instead. I kindly informed the server that I had asked for a red wine, and he went back to the bar—only to return five minutes later with the exact same glass of white wine. Once again, I let him know I had ordered a semi-sweet red wine, not a white wine. He took it back and returned with a red wine another five minutes later, but this time it was much lighter than the one I had ordered upstairs.
I asked another server if they served different red wines upstairs compared to downstairs, and she said it was the same wine. I showed her a picture of the wine I had previously, pointing out the difference in color. She took the photo to the back, and five minutes later, I finally received the correct wine. Honestly, I would have been fine drinking any of the wines, but after two mistakes, it was important to point out that they were repeatedly getting my order wrong.
After bringing the correct red wine, they decided to move us “to the best table in the house.” When we arrived at this table overlooking Monastiraki Square and the Acropolis, there were still used cups on it. The server then realized that other customers were already sitting there, so they moved us to another table for five. This new spot was right next to a loud group and directly under a speaker that was playing music loudly.
After waiting 35 minutes, only one of our dishes arrived. It took another 10 minutes for the second dish to come out. When the dishes were placed on our table, the server didn’t tell us what they were or say anything at all before quickly walking away. Although the food looked appetizing and was presented well, it was cold.
After finishing our meals, we didn’t see our server again and had to go up to pay. We noticed that we were charged for a bottle of water we never received. Although it was inexpensive, it was frustrating to be billed for something we didn’t get. The total was around €53 for two people, which is typical for an establishment that prides itself on good service and quality food, but they fell short of these expectations.
I was disappointed with my experience and, given the choice, would prefer any of the other nearby rooftop bars or restaurants...
Read moreI arrived at the restaurant for my reservation at 7:45, the waiter insisted on us getting sea bass for two, I wanted a different dish and my girlfriend wanted sea bass so i was like okay because it was 22euros each for sea bass. We then had to wait an hour and twenty minutes for the food to arrive, the fish was then deboned by a waiter, he seemed to be unexperienced at taking the bones out of the fish, there was lots of bones in the fish left by the time he was done, the food was cold once we where finally able to eat, the portions weren’t that big either. We then got the bill and it was 110euros, we had two ciders a bottle of water and a sea bass with some veg and about 150g of rice cooked weight. this was a small portion and we where both left hungry afterwards. I also want to add that we had made a reservation, we where seated in the middle off the roof top and had asked to move to a free table where it was in front of the view of acropolis, one of the main reasons we went to the roof top restaurant, we where told we would be moved closer to the view later, this did not happen, however customers without reservations who arrived much later where moved to the free seating in front of the view where we had asked to be moved to. Over 20 customers who had been seated after us where given there meals before us, a sea bass that was grilled takes no more than a pasta or pizza freshly made so the fact we where served way later doesn’t make sense. the bill was 110 euros and once we where given the bill the waiter had the audacity to put a tip on it we couldn’t take off after I had expressed my feelings about the bad service and cold food.
I do not recommend coming here at all there are better rooftop restaurants which are higher up and serve better food.
If you would like this review removing then please refund our meal by half as the meal was expected to be 22 euros each for sea bass and 6 euros for our ciders each and then the water bottle we had been given. The meal was supposed to be about 66 euros but...
Read moreThis July we had the pleasure of dining at an extraordinary MS rooftop restaurant in Athens, and we are beyond thrilled to share my enchanting experience. Nestled high above the city, this restaurant offered breathtaking views of the iconic Parthenon and Pl. Monastirakou that left us utterly mesmerized.
The views from the rooftop were nothing short of awe-inspiring. As the sun set, the ancient wonders of Athens were bathed in a golden glow, creating a magical atmosphere that transported me to another world. The restaurant's prime location truly provided a unique and unforgettable dining experience.
The delectable food further enhanced the already incredible ambiance. Every dish was a delightful blend of flavors, prepared with exquisite attention to detail. From traditional Greek delicacies to modern culinary delights, each bite was a celebration of taste and craftsmanship.
We were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to find a seat with such a captivating view. The restaurant's thoughtful seating arrangements ensured that every guest could enjoy the stunning vistas without feeling crowded. This attention to guest comfort was genuinely appreciated.
In this era of social media, I couldn't help but notice that this rooftop restaurant is a haven for Instagram enthusiasts. The picture-perfect backdrop of the Parthenon and the cityscape makes it one of the most Instagrammable spots in Athens. Every angle begged to be captured and shared with the world.
However, beyond the awe-inspiring setting and delicious food, it was the staff's warmth and friendliness that made the experience truly special. From the moment we stepped in, they made me feel like an honored guest. The attentive and accommodating service added a touch of genuine hospitality that left a lasting impression.
We look forward to returning soon and savoring more magical moments at this...
