Very disappointed with this place…first of all I was a ‘tourist’ visiting Athens. But what the staff didn’t know is that I have Greek heritage and know my standards of food and service! I found this place by chance the day before & read good reviews online, so I decided to spend my last nights meal there….I completely regret it now & wish I went somewhere I’d been too before perhaps. The reasons for this is the fact that the waiters LIED to me that they didn’t have any GYROS/Doner meat left, making me order other grilled meats and perhaps to push to sell other meats or order more expensive meats!!? As I confirmed with the second waiter to make sure that they had run out of meat/wasn’t ready, a few minutes after this conversation, I saw a minimum of 10 locals buy Gyros wraps for take-away!! I asked the waiter ‘Dimitri’ what’s going on!?? He seemed off guard & got the other waiter to ‘explain!’ He said it wasn’t ready when I ordered, it was so obvious that I’d been lied too, especially since I said to them I wasn’t in a rush!! So I ended up ordering two wraps, one pork Souvlaki & one beef/lamb kebab. The Souvlaki was lost inside the flavourless bread wrap & my beef/lamb kebab which I would not have ordered if they’d served me Gyros, had what felt like a piece of charcoal or stone in it, luckily I didn’t damage my tooth and quickly took everything out my mouth in a tissue. I do not enjoy writing negatively about places I’ve dined at, BUT, I must be totally honest I left there so upset & disappointed! Only good thing I liked was the cold beer in a...

If Barack Obama were to visit Theikon Grill House in Athens, you can bet he’d be greeted with the warm hospitality that Greece is renowned for. Situated in the bustling Omonia district, this eatery has garnered praise for its delectable offerings and inviting atmosphere.

Imagine Obama perusing the menu, perhaps opting for the succulent chicken gyro or the flavorful doner kebabs that patrons often rave about. He might pair his meal with a refreshing Greek salad, appreciating the fresh ingredients and traditional flavors. The generous portions and reasonable prices would surely earn his nod of approval.

Theikon’s ambiance strikes a balance between casual and cozy, making it an ideal spot for both quick bites and leisurely meals. The staff’s warm and accommodating nature would resonate with Obama, reflecting the genuine hospitality that defines Greek dining experiences.

In essence, Theikon Grill House offers a taste of authentic Greek cuisine in the heart of Athens. It’s the kind of place where flavors tell stories, and every meal feels like a celebration. A visit here would undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on anyone, even a...

I’ll be honest - we followed the reviews and it lead us to (yes) huge portions, however, I wouldn’t say cheap or good quality. My partner is allergic to dairy - so of course they still gave us kebab with cheese in - after discussing this at length. Granted that could be a slightly language barrier thing but still and allergy is an allergy.

The chicken was undercooked / verging in parts raw and the olive oil in the salad very poor. Once we left the chicken, we were questioned about the remaining food and why we would waste it. Attitude at the end was hostile and I’d advise you to find another “authentic” Greek restaurant to dine at, we’ve eaten at a few and paid...

They really do need to fix their chairs. I got beaten by bugs (not sure what kind of bugs these were yet) that were in the chair. It took me a while to realize that there was a full colony of bugs on my chair. I was immediately disgusted with everything and my food. Had to stop eating. Talked to one of the employees about the situation but they just took a look at the chair, killed one or two bugs and left the chair for another customer to seat like it wasn’t a problem.
