Ate here as part of the Ikos Hotel Dine Out in the community, part of the Deluxe All inclusive package. Most of the people dining were on the similar scheme from our hotel. Situated in the old town square, it has a premises in a row of buildings, with a small number of tables in front and also an outside marquee area, in the square, unfortunately the windy weather prevented us using that. We received a warm welcome. Offered drinks and water, shown our menus, the usual procedure. Agora food menu but Ikos wine menu. I We went for the variety of starters. The chilli cheese dip and the zucchini fried balls were exceptional, also included fried cheese squares, stuffed vine leaves, pitta, tzatziki, olives and an aubergine dip, not the largest of portions, but a good selection, picture included. For main we ordered the variety of seafood food platter, I wasn't overwhelmed. It looked good initially upon serving but most were pre cooked and only lukewarm, the small fishes particularly were a bit overcooked. Sardines, whitebait, mussels, octopus with tentacles, calamari rings and 2 giant prawns, no accomplishments came with it but we probably could have ordered something else. We didn't have a dessert because there wasn't anything that I desired. Offered and accepted a complimentary kumquat flavoured soaked cake which was lovely, not a dessert item, that I remembered. The whole meal was completed in just over an hour, it all seemed a bit incomplete and swift. I would have been slightly disappointed if I had paid for the meal, had it not been part of a package. Prices shown weren't cheap. Apologies, no photo of the fish platter, we were hungry and dived in before I remembered to take it. Although situated on a road with steady traffic passing by, it's a stones throw from the sea front. With warm excellent weather conditions, eating outside would probably be a pleasurable relaxing experience. I may just have to go there again and...
Read moreI was recently at another eating establishment, which, when I turned up on my own, I was treated extremely negatively. There were tables available, but the waiter said they didn’t have room for me. I left actually disgusted because it proved what a lot of solo women travellers have said about being treated badly…I would highly recommend a visit to Agora . I was treated with incredible respect and consideration, and nothing was too hard for the waiter. George, the waiter is a great investment for Agora. It is such a delight to have been treated with incredible respect and consideration. I can see myself going back there again, the food is absolutely delicious.. I will make sure I tell my friends as well. Do yourselves a favour and try the...
Read moreWalked by this place to check out the menu. With a friend who can’t eat dairy and a review had mentioned some vegan options. When we were looking at the menu the waitress walked up and asked us if we needed help. I told her we were just checking out the menu and were wondering if they had any vegan breakfast items.
She laughed and said what?? No egg?? No dairy?? No yogurt?? Scoffed and said no, what possibly could you eat then??
All her response needed to be was a simple no. Instead she put us down for the idea that we were even asking if they might serve a vegan breakfast. Corfu has been especially accommodating with my friends dietary needs so this was a surprising, unnecessary and...
