This is my eighth visit. I was recommended this restaurant by my local Greek friends. They told me it was all home cooked food & family run. We were not disappointed, the food and service was 100% perfect. I love fish and asked the waitress Helen, ( who I later found out was the Daughter of the owners ) what she recommended. She told me that the Bourdeto was very nice & a traditional Greek dish. I was keen to try. It was amazing. So much so, that I ate it on three occasions!! My friend went for the Italian dishes & again perfect.
I also highly recommend the Baked feta cheese. Every dish I ate was so tasty. I also wanted to have a Dry wine, they were so helpful & let me try some of the Rosie & white to see which one I preferred. Even when they were so busy , they always kept a smile & a friendly Aporoach. The Restaurant is truly home cooked food, not frozen & not bought in. My Greek friends couldn’t of recommended anything better.
The restaurant is set in a beautiful courtyard & if anyone is interested in the Durrels, it was filmed around this area & they filmed in the courtyard.
Elena ( the daughter ) was so helpful , Banti great service & very friendly. Stavros & Anna couldn’t do enough for you & their hospitality was amazing & not forgetting Natasha . Thank you everyone. See you next...
Read moreIt is very painfull to remeber and describe all what is wrong with this restaurant, but I have to do this so other people won't waste their time and money.
The location itself is not that bad but since in Corfu city there is literally no air to breathe with temperature over 30C even during the night and having no cooling devices anywhere near, sitting in front of the restaurant was a real torture.
In addition, the owners are guided with 'quantity over quality' rules, they were understaffed with too many tables which result was that we waited for our food over an hour.
As this is not enough, the pizzas we were given were dry, over baked with lack of decent ingredients and they felt nothing like pizza but rather as a hard, dry wood.
We ordered pizza but this didn't stop the staff to bring bread (as we didn't ordered pasta already!) and charge us 3€ for 4 small pieces of bread!
At the end of this exausting meal which took like 90 minutes, we were drained from the heat, hungry because of the tasteless food and left with a feeling that we have been ripped-off!
I will never come back near this...
Read moreThe food tasted very good, but I felt like amateur mistakes were made. The spaghetti with shrimps was cooked excellently, the sauce was very tasty, but the amount of shrimp was very poor (only 3 whole shrimps) and the biggest problem with them was that they were peeled, however their shells were kept in the dish, probably serving as a very impractical "decoration", resulting in a total and unnecessary mess. The meat in the pork souvlaki was very tough and difficult to cut or chew and nearly impossible to get off the skewer. The fried potatoes, corn pita and tzatziki were excellent. The only dish from our order which was without problems was the soutzoukakia with rice. The staff were in a never ending rush, however that is acceptable since the restaurant was full the whole time and there was always a line of at least two groups. The atmosphere is perfect for dinner, especially after it gets dark and the street lighting turns on. There's probably no better place in this...
