An Unforgettable Evening at La Tavola Galda: A Taste of Italy in Corfu
Our last night in Corfu was an enchanting affair, made even more memorable by our visit to "La Tavola Galda." As a family of four, including our two daughters aged 18 and 21, we were looking for a restaurant that would offer us a delightful culinary experience with a touch of Italian charm. La Tavola Galda exceeded our expectations and left us with a lasting impression.
From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were transported to the heart of Italy. The warm and inviting ambiance, adorned with rustic decor and soft lighting, set the stage for an intimate and enjoyable evening. The staff welcomed us with genuine smiles and ensured we felt right at home.
The highlight of our experience at La Tavola Galda was undoubtedly the incredible cuisine. The menu boasted a diverse selection of Italian dishes, each prepared with utmost care and attention to detail. We indulged in a variety of mouthwatering meals that showcased the mastery of the culinary team. The flavors were rich, the ingredients fresh, and the presentation impeccable.
Being seafood enthusiasts, we were particularly delighted by the remarkable selection of oceanic delights offered at the restaurant. Every dish showcased the restaurant's commitment to using the finest and freshest seafood available. The delicate balance of flavors and textures made for a truly exceptional dining experience.
To our surprise and delight, the chef himself came to our table during the course of the evening. With a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm, he shared a glass of limoncello with us, providing a personal touch that made us feel like honored guests. This unexpected gesture not only demonstrated the chef's passion for his craft but also left a lasting impression on our family.
Overall, our experience at La Tavola Galda was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of the welcoming Italian atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and impeccable service created a truly memorable evening for our family. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic taste of Italy in the heart of Corfu. Our sincerest thanks go to the entire staff, especially the talented chef, for making our last night in Corfu...

I was incredibly disappointed by my dining experience here. These unforgettable issues could be easily resolved by better management training.
Our dining experience was totally ruined by a kind but unprofessional and overly eager busboy, who tried to clear our plates while we were still chewing our food, bumped into our server while rushing away from our table, brought the complimentary appetizer after we got our meals, and kept gawking at us. Our server was polite and friendly but kept interrupting us while taking our order, spoke to fast, and mixed up the requested order of our dishes (he asked us twice and still got it wrong.)
We were shocked by the presentation- our salad came with olive oil and vinegar in two plastic packets.... really! As if the kitchen can’t throw in their own quality oil and vinegar on the salad! The size of the plates was way to large, making our pasta cool down quickly and look really flat and unappealing.
Also good Italian pasta does not need cheap crumbly Parmesan on it- especially no when it’s served from a container shaped like a wheel of cheese.
I paid 26€ for their porcini and truffle tagliatelle. I was shocked that the waiter asked me to pay another 5€ for fresh truffle. The dish was tasty but was just 4 cut porcini mushrooms (great quality) and a dollop of truffle paste (not the fake stuff) with parsley, pasta and olive oil. The value here is lacking
This place has the quality ingredients but needs a service reboot and...
Read moreLa Tavola Calda is an Italian restaurant right in the middle of Corfu with a Greek twist. We had diner here with our 3 adult childres (20, 23, 25) while on a day trip to Corfu. The restaurant is small, has 2 dining rooms and airconditioning which was very welcome after a hot day walking through Corfu. The menu is mainly Italian and has about 2-3 vegetarian options per course so about 8-12 options. The food is delicious, the service is impeccable. I’m not surprised it has won a TripAdvisor award and it is worthy of a Michelin ‘rating’, either Michelin or Bib Gourmand. It is definitely very different from the average ‘tourist menus’ that you can find on each street corner of Corfu town. We had starters, 1 vegetarian Zucchini with cheese, fish tartar, Oysters, and a Caprese. And then mains, including a vegetarian Mushroom pasta, Grilled Tuna (to perfection), a steak and the absolute winner of the evening; Sea Bream fillet with sea food in a parchment pouch. A dish reminiscent of the Greek bourdetto or a ‘main dish’ version Bouillabaise. Combined with a very nice Greek wine and with the excellent service of the restaurant we had a great evening. Total bill for 4 including tip €430 Euro, worth every...
