Restaurant Review: Spianada Meats & Greens
Spianada Meats & Greens is a delightful fusion of steakhouse tradition and modern culinary adventure, offering a truly unique dining experience for meat lovers. The restaurant's standout feature is its showcase of prime cuts from around the globe, displayed in a glass-fronted fridge that is as much a visual treat as it is a culinary one. Here, diners are invited to handpick their preferred cut of meat, with the option to select the size and variety that suits their taste. This personal touch is elevated by the fact that the meat is cut and weighed right in front of you, ensuring an engaging and transparent dining experience.
On my visit, I initially leaned towards an Argentinian steak, drawn by its renowned reputation. However, after a friendly and knowledgeable discussion with the staff, I was persuaded to try the Ribeye cut from the US. The steak was impeccably cooked, with the marbling delivering a rich, buttery flavor that was satisfying in every bite. Yet, for those seeking an even more indulgent experience, I would recommend exploring the Tomahawk cut on a return visit. Its dramatic presentation and robust flavor promise a memorable feast for the senses.
To complement my meal, I was interested in pairing it with a robust red wine. Though I had my heart set on an Argentinian Malbec, it was only available by the bottle. I was then guided towards a Cabernet Sauvignon, but which I later opted for a more full-bodied choice, perfectly matching the richness of the Ribeye. While this was an enjoyable pairing, the restaurant's wine list shows a lot of potential, and I look forward to exploring more of their offerings on future visits.
Overall, Spianada Meats & Greens excels in providing a personalized and engaging dining experience, from its global selection of meats to its thoughtfully curated wine pairings. It's a must-visit for anyone passionate about steak, with a warm atmosphere and attentive service that make every...
Read moreHolidaying in Corfu (Gouvia) From where we’re staying there is a bus stop that operates every 20 mins during the week and every 30 mins Sundays/Bank Hols, it’s the green line number 7 that takes you straight into San Rocco Square which is where the bus terminates. From here it’s about a 15 minute walk at most to Spianada’s and although the walk there, with my slightly immobile mum was a little bit tricky, the walk was worth it. So we had reserved a table as from reading the reviews, it seemed necessary. When we arrived the table we had reserved was inside and it was empty. We were the only people inside. Understandably when you see the outside space they’ve got, which we ended up moving too because you’re in the middle of the square, with everything you could possibly need with all sorts going on around you to people watch. The main menu was priced rather reasonable to be fair, our starters were 16€ and our burgers were 26€ each. Pricey for Corfu but by far the best food we’ve had all holiday and the best burger I’ve ever had. Atmosphere was spot on, the steaks looked absolutely to die for and these are priced individually by the kg. The staff were all so attentive and polite. We didn’t catch the ladies name who seemed to be hosting but she was an absolute credit to your business. Fantastic work ethic and great customer service. Thank-you. If we’re ever in Corfu again, we will definitely return. Hope this review helps out fellow...
Read moreWalked up to the seated area and gave eye contact to waiters, we had to wave someone down after standing there for 10mins with waiters constantly walking past us when it was obvious we wanted seating. The then waiter told us to wait 5/10 minutes for a table to be cleared and we agreed that was okay. After standing for 15 minutes was asked about our table which looked like it was given to another couple through bad communication, we were told to wait until a table of two had paid their bill which fortunately only took 5mins.
After being seated we waited 30 minutes for a menu and another 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We ordered a main and a side each which arrived 1 hour after ordering, only to be placed by a waiter in the middle of the seating area for another waiter to supposedly bring to us...we saw it getting cold so flagged a waiter down and asked if that was our food who then brought it straight over - yes it was cold.
Asked for the bill as soon as we could as we didn't want to wait an hour for desert - long story short we never saw the bill after waiting half an hour and asking twice...
Pro: Food tasted good for the price point even though it was cold. Pro: Other people we're getting turned away as they were full so was greatful about that.
Negative: The whole experience, won't be going again.
P.S. Had a child with an Ipad playing frog noises on full volume and nothing was done...
