Edited to three stars because restaurant seems very inconsistent in other reviews and there's some weird fake reviews on here.
Located on a slightly more quiet part of Corfu's streets, Thymari gives a very serene first impression. The menu is a mix of twists on Greek and Italian dishes. We start out with the taramosalata with cuttlefish ink. It's very smooth and a great opener for the next course. The steamed mussels have a tumeric-citrus broth that blows us both away. It's slightly messy eating so everything turns yellow after a while but the mussels are incredibly fresh and very delicious. As a main course, we pick the seafood moussaka and the prawn spaghetti. I'm not blown away by the spaghetti, nor is my partner. It's certainly not bad, just seems like it could have been more than tomato, slightly overcooked spaghetti and prawns. The seafood moussaka is very good though, the chewy bits of cuttlefish are very enjoyable, and the different elements come out nicely. Overall, we had a good time at Thymari, with friendly, attentive staff and a fair price considering the amount of food we ordered. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to...
Read moreI don't understand the bad reviews at all but know restaurants can be inconsistent depending on staff that are working etc. My partner and I visited the restaurant twice over our week-long stay in Corfu. We were greeted by dedicated waiting staff who were attentive and ensured that we had everything we needed. The fried calamari was great and we had it both times we dined at the restaurant. It was by far the best calimari we had in Corfu. We were given complementary ouzo after our second visit. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Corfu that is looking for good food with a nice atmosphere. Other notable dishes that we ate included the Greek salad (which was made using the freshest tomatoes), the dips with bread and olive oil were amazing. The traditional mousakka was very flavoursome. The grilled swordfish was cooked beautifully and was accompanied by a bed of roasted aubergine and courgette. The prawn spaghetti was of a great portion size and the prawns themselves were fresh fat and juicy. I would come again in...
Read moreThe food is ok and the ladies that work in the entrance and serving are very polite. 2 of the men serving were not polite at all, one wanted to choose what we should eat and he just did not let us choose for our own!? The other, when it was time to pay, was very impolite and did strange faces when I asked to pay by credit card! I noticed that they do not bring the fiscal receipt to a lot of tables, especially to tourists that cannot read Greek. They kept pretending that the POS machine was not working properly and was giving errors when tourists wanted to pay by credit card! I understand that this has been a very difficult period for restoration overall, but this is not the way to treat your customers, Greek or tourists. People understand and they will just not come to you anymore if you do these things. Fortunately, the island offers a lot of choices when it comes to food and drinks and the market is so competitive! Do not believe you will be able to survive if the whole experience is not impeccable. Food is important but...
