We had brunch at Galileo and were blown away by the quality of the food and the breathtaking view of Chania’s iconic Venetian harbor. The salmon and scrambled eggs were absolutely delicious—fresh, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully plated. Sitting by the waterfront, watching the lighthouse and passersby while sipping cold water and enjoying our meal, made for a picture-perfect experience.
However, one aspect did leave a sour note. When I asked for some cream on the side for my Greek coffee, the waitress pushed back and instead tried to upsell me a latte. All I wanted was a basic cup of coffee with a little cream—not a more expensive drink. It felt less like hospitality and more like a sales tactic, which detracted from what otherwise could’ve been a flawless meal. It gave the impression that accommodating a simple request wasn’t worth the effort.
That said, the food, location, and ambiance were still exceptional. If management could place a bit more focus on flexible, customer-friendly service, this place would easily be a...
Read moreDon't go here if you are up for cocktails. We ordered 2x Aperol spritz. I have never received cocktails so fast, but the moment they put it on the table they looked poor. Visually, colouring was very pale, like there is barely any aperol in it, and there was a total absence of any indication that there is something sparkling in it such as prosecco or soda water. Tastewise it was similar story, I felt like I was drinking evaporated sparkling water with a lots of ice without trace of any alcohol. We took just a sip of it, and asked to pay for it and leave. They offered to make new drinks when we said this to them as well, but considering how badly this was made, it seemed worthless to give it another chance. Maybe if they put too much of aperol and made it too sweet, yeah, but considering nothing in that glass seemed like it should be, it didn't make sense to give it another go. They...
Read moreI had the worst experience in my life when it comes to a restaurant service. I did what most Greeks do when a place is empty, chose a table and sat down, took a glance on the menu when the waiter (the long haired man as most others mention, which i guess also he might be the owner of this mess) came to tell me to change a table as that one was reserved (no reserved signs on tables btw), he also snatched the menu from my hands, took me to the wrong table (the standard is to stand by the side of the table you are offering to the customer), left without noticing that and came back to move me again. I left, and I guess that was the smart move, I got 10 times better service from the fast food a few meters away than this mess of a restaurant/Cafe. Hopefully I don't get the...
