Regrettable Experience that Ruined my friends Birthday Dinner We chose Pallas for my friend’s birthday dinner, largely because of its prime location on the seafront and the promise of a beautiful sunset view. Our initial interaction with the staff was pleasant — a lovely lady helped us book the table and noted that we were celebrating a birthday. Unfortunately, she mentioned she wouldn’t be working during our reservation time. On arrival, the host who seated us also acknowledged the birthday note, which gave us hope for a thoughtful dining experience. Sadly, things quickly went downhill once we were seated and assigned a waiter, whose name, we believe, was Nick.
Here’s a summary of our disappointing experience: Delayed Service: Despite arriving before several other tables, our waiter prioritized guests who were seated after us. We eventually had to flag down a different staff member to ask what was going on. Unwelcoming Attitude: When the waiter finally approached us, he was noticeably cold. I reminded him it was my friend’s birthday, to which he responded with a blank stare — as if to say, “What does that have to do with me?” Small Portions: The food took a long time to arrive, and when it did, the portion size of the main course — especially the fish of the day — was disappointingly small. Lack of Attention: We asked to order fries to supplement the small main dishes, but the waiter brought a different type of potato instead. By that point, we were tired of trying to salvage the evening and asked for the bill. Dismissive Response: When we politely raised our concerns about the service and mentioned that a small gesture for the birthday would have been appreciated — even just a dessert with a candle — the waiter dismissively said, “So what if it’s her birthday? Does that mean I have to do something?”
Needless to say, we were deeply disappointed by the overall experience. We regret choosing Pallas for such a special occasion. Ironically, a few days later we dined at a nearby restaurant — Fish Tavern — and had an entirely different experience: warm, attentive service, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. I sincerely hope the management at Pallas takes this feedback seriously. Unfortunately, I do plan to share a video review of our experience, as I believe no one should have to endure this kind of service — especially when celebrating a...

Booked for my husband’s birthday. Lovely setting, great views, and our waitress was genuinely nice. But the restaurant was overwhelmed, and everything was slow. After waiting 45 minutes post-starters, she came to say there was a delay. We were patient and understanding.
Another 30 mins passed, and when my food finally came, it was inedible. I ordered flat iron steak with thick-cut fries and peppercorn sauce. What arrived was stone cold fries and a chewy, cold steak. I politely told the waitress (said I knew it wasn’t her fault) and asked for it to be taken away. I didn’t want to wait any longer.
She removed the fries, but left the cold steak in front of me for another 20 minutes.
Then came the real problem. The manager stormed over, asked “What’s the problem?” He called me a liar, said the plate underneath was warm so the steak must have been hot, and argued with me for several minutes. No apology, no accountability, just arrogance and attitude. He kept interrupting me and boasted about how many steaks they sell a day, as if that proved anything.
After that It was awkward, uncomfortable, and frankly ruined the evening.
He refused to take the meal off the bill and said he’d “put it in the bin” but yet, “we must pay” with the smuggest tone I’ve ever heard in hospitality. My husband was so fed up by this point, he just paid for a steak that apparently went in the bin!
I don’t write reviews like this lightly, but I’ve never been treated like that in a restaurant. He is the reason I’ll never go back, and I’ll be warning EVERYONE I know on every platform.
P.S I’ll bet the reply will be him telling lies that there was no problem and I was “aggressive from the start” as he tried to say to me, gaslighting me. Absolute rubbish, I absolutely did raise my voice to him in the end, because I can’t stand bullies, and...
Read moreThe three of us had a Thursday brunch of omelette, scrambled eggs and 'poached eggs with avocado’ and drinks. The food was OK, but they got the quantity wrong which caused confusion between two similar items we ordered, and then the toast didn't come, so we had to ask for that. Then there was a long wait after we finished as we had to ask for the bill three times. The waiter attempted to deliver the bill to us just verbally by telling us the payable amount (we witnessed him doing this with other customers) but we insisted on an itemised bill so we could check it. So we asked and waited for that too (we did request this too from the Maitre D, but it was vetoed as her responsibilities are solely touting and then seating the customer (rinse and repeat)). This is not an 50 euro experience that we would want to return for again!
FYI, Google Maps is not showing a restaurant where we actually ate, which is a bit disconcerting. Nor does the name of the restaurant appear on the itemised bill (which is probably why it states it’s not a ‘tax item(invoice) - refer Greeks/English pics). For clarification of attributing this review to the appropriate restaurant, we believe that Pallas is operating three distinct areas (see my pic which annotates the locations of all three), there are two harbour facing areas on either side of the Michail Afentoulief street entrance (we noted both of them had the exact same menu and spoke to the Maitre D on either side). Then there is a restaurant inside the Michail Afentoulief street (which IS shown on Google Maps) which serves croissants and wine during the day, and the ‘where we ate’ Maitre D directed us to go there, when we requested the use of their...
