Good afternoon! I live in Crete since over 6 months! You have super amazing restaurants! Few bad restaurants but this one I feel ashamed of my people to serve tourists(no local inside) food like this! That’s why I need to bring it into attention! I hate loosing time writing this but I need to share my experience!Burned lamb chops smelling awful and very bad! Burned, full of Oregano to try to trick the sense of smell! At one of the most epic locations at the old venetian harbour. Beautiful spot to sit! It’s a shame! I don’t know how the others dishes are but for me it is time to really consider turning vegetarian after this awful nonsense 35€ experience.
YOU TEXT ME TO CONVINCE ME LIKE YOU ARE FISHING FOR GOOD COMMENTS! But sorry no! BECAUSE OF YOUR BEST RATING I FALL INTO THE TRAP! THERE IS ALMOST NO LOCAL RATING COMMENT! YOU are wrong! My stomach is full of pain since I ate your Paidakia yesterday! You are rude serving this food to people! It’s a shame and me as a Cretan grown up in restaurants in Crete and in another country know what is good or bad! I go almost everyday to restaurants! This is the worst I had in 6 months! I feel ashamed for you that you serve people in holidays this food! I prefer fast food in Crete than yours. Our cousin is fresh and rich! I go a lot to India! I never had stomach pain like here! Unbelievable. My stomach still in this moment is full of pain of the food you served me yesterday! Μας περνάτε και από πανό! καντίνες στο δρόμο πουλάνε 100000 φορές καλλίτερα από εσάς! Και το λεο και το ξέρο οπός το ξέρετε και εσείς!!! If you would have said sorry Sir but our Paidakia are sold out(instead of saying not fresh) it is acceptable. But this is not acceptable. And a humans opinion is a humans opinion! It’s the first amendment right! Why you try to convince me if I am wrong or not! Your food destroyed my stomach! People need to know! That was my experience! Others will do better experience and others worse than me ending in the hospital maybe by food poisoning! Check my other comments! 95% of my comments to others are amazing and bad ones I write only if it is really bad! Most comments of your rating by the way is about the sunset! For sure the sunset is amazing but the food unfortunately the opposite! I know that quality at the end of the season is worse than in the beginning or in the middle ,for example: (small little supermarkets not all but many don’t sell big ice cream brands anymore.)but this what you are doing is absolutely not...
Read moreWe decided to come here because we noticed that this restaurant was highly rated here. The restaurant is in a prime location by the sea - so it seems to be popular with tourists. Prices were higher than other places though this restaurant offers more of a fine dining experience. Dishes seemed unique and interesting. We started off this a salad and the trilogy of dips. We enjoyed these, though they were relatively simple and not better than we could get anywhere else. The dips did not come with enough bread and we had to order more. The mains that we ordered also didn’t quite deliver for their prices and unique premises. The pork chop was simple and a little dry, and the side of grilled vegetables were overpriced. The sea bass orzo had little sea bass and too much orzo - disappointing for its price. The tuna fillet was probably the best dish we ordered - though the sauce was very sweet. The most disappointing food item though was the moussaka - which I can’t say was really a moussaka at all. The eggplant was soggy and made up the majority of the dish, with a little, slightly dry minced meat and lots of béchamel sauce, topped with some very thinly cut fries on top instead of potato inside. The dish was poorly seasoned and did not do justice to a good moussaka. We did receive some complementary dessert and raki as it seems is customary at restaurants in Crete. Overall the food was okay, but for its price and in comparison to all the other great food in Crete, it was lacklustre and not worth the money. The service was faultless. It is worth mentioning and it’s likely this restaurant’s rating may be inflated due to the waiters encouraging customers to leave a...
Read moreAs someone who visits Chania every year, I can safely say this is hands down the best restaurant in town.
To make this point clear, I ate here 9 times in 8 days.
There is nothing more you can want from a dining establishment. The service is top notch, every single employee was incredibly kind and courteous especially Manos, Vaios, Elena, and Giannis. I have never felt more welcomed dining anywhere.
To make things even better, the food is exceptional. I ordered the pork chop, chicken thighs, tuna filet, fresh porgy, lamb fricasse, orzo with sea bass, ribeye, dakos, Cretan salad, Horta, sea urchins, and everything was delicious.
The prices are also incredibly fair and you get amazing value for your money. The atomosphere is fantastic whether you are eating an early lunch, a dinner at sunset, or an late night meal.
The view of the port and the water can’t be beat.
I don’t think it’s possible to convey in words just how great this restaurant is. You just have to go and experience it for yourself.
This is the furthest thing from a tourist trap, which can’t be said for every place in Chania.
I’m already looking forward to going back next year.
Thank you all again for being an establishment that respects its customers and provides an excellent...
