Average quality of food. Higher prices than in some other places. They don’t write in the menu but confirmed when I asked that the Moussaka has 30% Pork meat, which is Haram and Not Kosher. The lamb was about 40% bone. The chicken salad shouldn’t have Mayonnaise, it ruined the entire food. In the evening they place candles on every table, which give a strange smell which is especially bad if you have allergies or asthma. The candles seem to be toxic petrol based, and not natural safe candles made of soy or beeswax. In one night while eating I found a piece metal wire in the Baklava, which seems to be from a metal scourer used to clean dishes. They should use natural scourers made from Coconut Fibres or Loofah, that even if they get into food there is no risk to health. Some waiters are very kind, especially the woman in her 60’s, and they all have great English. However not all the waiters are great. When I asked for a fork, the waiter grabbed it from the fork top/ head, and not the fork bottom/ handle. They place the cutlery in paper napkins, which is bad for the environment and potentially harmful as 99% of paper napkins have BPA and other harmful chemicals, which can be left on the cutlery. They should use reusable cotton cloths. They use painted plates, which have a risk of containing lead and other heavy metals, I would have preferred simple white plates. The grilled cheese and most of the fried food is fried in sunflower oil and has some black spots on it, which can be from Teflon cookware or some grill that might be peeling off, or if the chef is overcooking the food. It has a nice view, but I would have preferred to have...
Read moreI have connection with this place from my childhood. There was times, when we came here for holiday and seeing our local friends. Then my uncle moved here, so I spent so many time here... Now I was a little business trip and hopefully I can spend much more time in this paradise. This is the best beach near. Around 10 years ago here was a little beach bar, a good friend runs that place. Now, however I don't know the new owners, I already know that they are the most lovely people who can run this place. They're always smiling, never shows you that they are not in the mood, even at the end of the season! :) And the kitchen is simply fantastic. I always live in this area and there is no way, that I miss thiss place for a morning coffee or a nice dinner ever!
This place brings me back my childhood memories, my teenag days, love and joy in my life. It's really feels like I'm home.

Read moreA lovely restaurant right next to the beach. The menu is not too long, but still varied and there are options for every taste - from burgers and pizzas to typical Cretan dishes like gemista. The latter has become our favorite, right next to the juicy baklava and the orange pie. We were spoiled every day with desserts on the house. The restaurant has a nice view to the sea. Staff were more than friendly. We had great talks with Maria and Christina, to name a few. Despite the busy shifts and multitude of clients at the restaurant, the ladies took the time to talk to us. They also provided us with great insights on Cretan dishes and culture and advice on visiting Samaria gorge. Besides the wonderful atmosphere in the restaurant, I really appreciated our small daily chats with the great people at Golden Bay. Take care and hope to...
