This fine dining restaurant really looks the part with a beautiful garden with charming lights and a calm atmosphere but the quality of food does not match their ambitions.
We were greeted by a friendly lady who promptly found us a table and everything pointed to a nice dinner experience. But then we met the less than friendly guy who took our order. He might have had a bad day at work and that's OK but at least have some knowledge about the food you are serving. And don't yell at your coworkers and give them a frown and the stern eye in front of the customers. That is NOT ok!
When my wife asked the grumpy waitor about the difference between the sea bass and ths sea bream we expected some kind of explanation to the difference in taste and texture and not that one is thin and the other one is fat.
And when we ordered the cheese Saganaki we were expecting the dish to be made with yellow cheese since there already is a grilled feta cheese option on the menu. And I am fully aware that Saganaki can be made with different types of cheese but at least inform about the usage of feta since most Saganaki dishes are made with yellow cheese.
The sea bass tasted great but is was drowned in a sauce that was rather bland. The Beef Stifado was nothing more than ok with parts of the meat being a bit dry. How this can be I don't know because it was served in plenty of tomato based sauce. But the good thing is that I know realize that I like White Stifado better than the tomato based version.
And the salad that came with both dishes looked like something you could expect from a kebab shop in Oslo. Some tomato, cucumber, onion, rocket leafs and tinned corn covered in the same bland sauce as the fish. This dining experience was the biggest let down of our cretan vacation and the most expensive one as well.
The reason for two stars and not one is the lady that met us, the fantastic Charma Pale Ale ❤❤ and the guy serving the drinks and cleaning the table.
To other visitors, there are other and much better...

The service from the waitress and the elderly woman (1 of the owners) was incredible and they made us feel so welcome to the point that it felt like we had been coming there for years!
After dinner we were always given a complimentary dessert such as home-made vanilla ice cream or traditional Greek semolina cake and even lemon fruit from the garden to take back to the hotel with us.
On one of the evenings we were celebrating a hugely successful accomplishment by my sister and we had arranged for them to bake a cake for us as a surprise for my sister to celebrate the event.. they baked a delicious cake and gave such a wonderful celebration and announcement for her accomplishment.
I absolutely love their chicken or beef souvlaki with garlic pita bread and salad! Whenever I think about their food or remember the restaurant my mouth instantly waters! I dream about their food haha!
Love this restaurant and the staff! It's an absolute must try......
Read moreThis was a stark contrast to the other lovely and delicious meals we had during our two week trip in Crete. The food was very bland and overly expensive. The starter of fried cheese was too dry, and the batter did not go well with the cheese. We ordered two different slow cooked dishes, and were sorely let down. The lamb kleftiko was nicely presented, but it was bland and was served with what seemed like boiled frozen vegetables (peas, corn, carrot, beans) in very little seasoning. The slow cooked beef was very meh.
On top of that, during the short 40 minutes we sat down to eat, there was a fight between stray dogs and cats in the restaurant. There was also a stray cat vomitting right...
