Scandia Restaurant - Snack bar — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

Normally not writing a review but I have to for this one. At the first glance it seemed all okay, location perfect, close to the sea with the sunset, pita tzatziki all good and the waiter was very friendly. Then the experience started to collapse. Until this point we were very positive. We ordered our main dish and nothing came, after 1 whole hour I asked if our food was still coming through and the waiter politely answered that it would be there within 2 minutes. After a minute or 6/7 our food finally came through, in my opinion they just started preparing our food when I asked for it..

When the food arrived my ribeye was drenched in pepper sauce (not even in a small tub or so). I ordered a medium rare ribeye but there was nothing medium rare to it. When I tried to stick my fork into the steak it bent my fork.

My girlfriend ordered the BBQ burger, (don’t know which bbq) but it came out very dry and deeply burnt on every side.

To complete the total shock, staff was throwing with aprons and swearing to each other.

I hope for them it was a total off-day and normal service is better but if I could choose again they would have to pay me to eat here instead of me...

Worst experience ever - ordered dinner for my family, just a simple dish of meat for 2. After 1 hour waiting and with a hungry baby, asked one of the staff why it was taking so long. he smiled and said the food was coming in 2 minutes and after that left the restaurant in a motorcycle, which was a lot confusing to me as I was expecting him to bring my dinner. I was already fuming after waiting a ridiculous amount of time for a plate of mixed meat, asked another member of the staff and explained the situation and for my surprise after saying that my food still haven’t arrived he replied with a loud “SO WHAT” on my face. He turned around speaking Greek with a third member of the restaurant and this one brought me the bill to pay our drinks and sent us away. I don’t recommend anyone to waste the time trying to eat at this place. Also VERY HOT environment without a single fan to avoid the clients to drop sweat on the food. Rude staff, lack of communication, cockroaches on the floor. I would eat a bag of peanuts as dinner but wouldn’t try this...

I had dinner here on my first night in Rhodes. The fish tasted extremely rotten, and I got sick right after. It's been 3 weeks now, and my stomach still hasn't recovered. I've had stomach pains every day since that night and often have to vomit. I've never experienced anything like this, and I'm really worried. Please don't go here!

Here's an update following your response: How can you be so resistant to criticism?! Are you saying that everyone who leaves a negative review is lying? I've attached a photo here; was that not taken in your restaurant? Several people here claim they got food poisoning and fell ill. It's truly embarrassing for you to accuse everyone of lying. Your 'wonderful' family business will go bankrupt if you keep making guests sick with your food. I even mentioned in the restaurant that the fish tasted strange, but I was told that it's supposed to be that way. Seriously, please don't go to this restaurant!!
