Oceanfront — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

Went to this restaurant a few days prior and enjoyed the food. The old man I assume owns it was quite rude on the first day but we just brushed it off. My boyfriend and I went ourselves and had a horrible experience. First got told to sit down and then had no menu for 20 minutes and were complete ignored. We then asked for two strawberry daiquiris when we got our menus as we were both thirsty but the old man complained that we ordered that and said why don’t you just get a Coke , we laughed it off and said no we want the cocktails and he wasn’t happy but walked away from us. We then waited another 15 minutes to be asked for our order (still no drinks) I had ordered a BBQ bacon chicken fillet burger which I pointed to on the menu and the same was read back out to me which I said yes that’s correct. My boyfriend got a Caesar salad and we got some calamari to share. About 10 minutes later we then got our drinks which still had cubes of ice in them . Another 20 minutes had passed and we got the calamari which was chewy and tasteless, then the salad was brought over around 5 minutes after . We had no cutlery at this point and had to wait until my chicken burger was brought up . We were then given the cutlery and I noticed the burger was beef which I haven’t ate in years and is the reason why I point to things in the menu and let them repeat so i don’t get the wrong thing. My boyfriend went over to the old man with this and he said nothing other than who took your order (which was him) then he stormed away with the burger with no word. He came over around 5 minutes later and said I was a liar because I had ordered a beef burger to which I replied no I ordered chicken because I don’t eat beef , he then said i made this up as they don’t even do a bbq bacon chicken burger to which I replied well yea you do (my boyfriends father had ordered this a few days prior as well), this caused him to storm away and angrily flip through the menu. He then didn’t come back for another 15 minutes to which we decided we were just going to leave. We went up to the bar to pay for the drinks as we hadn’t touched the food and nothing else had been said to us. The man at the bar then started shouting at us that it was our fault it was wrong and we had to pay for everything we had. After a bit of back and forth of me saying I felt physically sick due to how the older man spoke to me and I hadn’t been told there was a burger coming I just gave the money for the food excluding the burger as I wasn’t paying for it . During our experience there was also multiple people screaming from the kitchen very loudly at anyone who went in to get food . Overall horrible place run by horrible unhappy...

Went with my boyfriend to eat here a couple of days ago, the place from the outside looked so beautiful next to the sea thinking the food will be nice(HAHA NOT) First of all the employees were so not friendly, hearing them arguing in Greek (I’m Greek btw) when ordered he warned us that the pita gyros is gonna take some time till we have it (thinking is gonna be like 20 min or so) ordered also feta oven and my boyfriend calamaris. Had to wait for our starters around 25 minutes, first I saw the feta was looking more like a salad than a feta oven, my boyfriend calamaris were horrible, soft from the outside and rubber from the inside. Mentioned that to the waiter and he answered with ‘’How do you want it then?’’ Still waiting for our pita gyros( 45 min for a pita? Are you kidding me?) finally got it, it was so small the tzatziki was looking disgusting so I had to open it to find out they put literally 4 pieces of fries and a ridiculous amount of gyros, I won’t even talk about how gross tzatziki looked. Left this place by only eating a bit of feta, disappointed both of us and not trusting good looking places anymore! When coming to Greece we first tried the restaurant Orexi which was wonderful, so the bar was really high when we went to try the restaurant beside them Oceanfront. We were four and ordered 5 dishes including extra rice and bread. Four of the food arrived, mine never did, and we never got the bread HE recommended to us. We called the waitress two times to ask about our missing food and she always said “let me ask”, it seems like they all have bad communication. And the owner who was old, had to lean over our table to hear me. He seemed mad and didn’t really talk politely. The food was just alright and overpriced, small portions and the fries, there was like 6 fries. The only positive thing about that restaurant was the view.
