If you like my review, give it a like. We had the pleasure of staying at two exceptional hotels during our trip to Rhodes, Greece: the Mitsis La Vita (a four-star, half-board option) and the Mitsis Grand Hotel (a five-star, ultra all-inclusive resort). Located side by side along the seafront in Rhodes Town, both hotels offer breathtaking views of the Aegean, with the Turkish coastline visible in the distance. The location was ideal, with the beach just across the road, making it easy for guests to stroll over, drinks in hand, to soak in the Greek sun. There’s also a convenient parking area, perfect for those like us who rented a car, including reserved spots for guests with limited mobility. Upon arrival at the Mitsis Grand, we were greeted by a concierge who kindly took our luggage and escorted us inside. The hotel’s entrance opens into an impressive lobby, where marble floors and golden fixtures give a grand, elegant feel. The reception area was staffed with friendly, multilingual attendants, all smartly dressed, and ready to assist with any request. After checking in, we were given wristbands for access to the all-inclusive restaurants and bars, marking the start of what would be a very indulgent stay. Our room (number 111) was a spacious sea-view suite, offering a sweeping panorama of the Dodecanese Islands and the Turkish coast beyond. The room itself was tastefully furnished, with a large, comfortable bed, stylish nightstands, and ample storage. A generously sized balcony allowed us to relax in privacy, sheltered from the sea breeze, with a table and chairs perfect for an afternoon drink. Unusually for Greek hotels, our room was fully carpeted, a pleasant touch that provided a quieter, more comfortable experience, especially after a shower when the risk of slipping on marble was no longer a concern. The bathroom was well-appointed with a marble-topped basin and a bath with a shower attachment, although I did find the shower curtain somewhat dated compared to the modern glass enclosure at the Mitsis La Vita. Still, the provided toiletries—luxurious shampoos, conditioners, and skin care products—were delightful and of a quality that left us wishing we could purchase them at home. Dining at the Mitsis Grand was an experience in itself. The buffet restaurant served as the main dining option for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering a vast array of Greek and international dishes. The food was always fresh, with chefs preparing specialities to order, ensuring a high standard. While we missed out on dining at the Italian and Pan-Asian à la carte restaurants due to them being fully booked, the selection at the buffet meant we were never left wanting. Throughout the day, additional options like the Pan-Asian brunch bar and a pizza & burger bar by the pool ensured there was always something delicious on offer, no matter the hour. Speaking of pools, the hotel boasts three: a tranquil indoor heated pool, an outdoor pool in the courtyard, and a second pool outside the hotel’s main entrance. There was never a struggle to find a sunbed, and for those looking to indulge further, the gym and spa facilities were available, with massages bookable for a touch of added luxury. One of the standout features of the hotel was the main bar, located just off the entrance. It offered an impressive selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, freshly brewed coffee, and sparkling champagne. Whether sipping a cocktail while reading a book or enjoying a mid-afternoon espresso, the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it a favourite spot to unwind. The service throughout our stay was impeccable. Every member of staff, from the baristas to the housekeeping team, was courteous and attentive, always on hand to ensure our needs were met. The sheer number of staff at the hotel ensured that guests were never left waiting, contributing to the overall five-star experience. Without hesitation, we would recommend any of the Mitsis hotels to friends and family looking for a luxurious, memorable stay in Rhodes.

This was my third time staying in Rhodes, and once again, I chose Mitsis Grand Hotel, and it did not disappoint! Having traveled extensively and stayed at numerous all-inclusive hotels across Greece and Cyprus, I can confidently say that this hotel remains one of the best ultra all-inclusive experiences I’ve ever had. If you're a foodie, this is the place for you! The hotel features four restaurants: Greek, American, the new Kitchen Web, and Creperie. The main restaurant is nearly open around the clock, offering a variety of delicious options. Kosta serves up amazing pizzas from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM with a range of toppings. He’s not just a pizza maestro; he’s incredibly friendly and always ready to chat, making the pizza experience even more enjoyable. Whether you want a classic margherita or a unique combination of toppings, Kosta is there to whip it up with a smile. His passion for pizza is evident in every slice, and you can even request special toppings to suit your taste. He truly elevates the dining experience! One of the highlights of my stay was the service at the Kitchen Web restaurant, where Stergios, the waiter, provided exceptional service. He’s truly the best, always attentive and ensuring we had everything we needed while presenting high-quality food. Then there's Violeta from the Creperie restaurant. No words can do justice to her talent! We’ve seen her every year we’ve visited, and she never fails to impress with her sweet and savory crepes. Violeta is warm-hearted, friendly, and full of great recommendations for things to do in Rhodes; you could easily spend hours chatting with her. Lefteris Mandanis was an absolute standout during our stay. Not only is he incredibly friendly and welcoming, but he also speaks multiple languages fluently, making communication easy and enjoyable. He greets everyone with a warm smile and genuinely cares about ensuring guests have the best experience possible. Lefteris has a knack for making conversations fun and engaging, effortlessly sharing local tips and stories that added a special touch to our visit. His professionalism and warmth truly made us feel at home. Dimitra from the front office was another star during our stay. She greeted us warmly every time we left or returned to the hotel. Her professionalism shone through as she resolved any issues in a matter of minutes, all while maintaining a friendly demeanor. We also appreciated that our flight was late at night, and the front office kindly arranged a late checkout for us free of charge. This allowed us to keep our room, making it easy to pack and prepare for our departure in a relaxed manner. I must also mention George, the bellboy, who was a tremendous help during our stay. He assisted us in moving our things from place to place with ease, always with a friendly smile and a can-do attitude. The bar scene was fantastic too! There was a bartender with a lip piercing who created some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had, even accommodating special requests with ease. His creativity and skill made every drink an experience in itself. As for the pools, while nothing is perfect, I have to mention that the water can be a bit cold. You might not want to stay in for too long, but it's not a big deal because the sun is hot, allowing you to dry off and get a nice tan quickly. It’s a fun way to grab a pizza from Kosta, pair it with a cocktail, and enjoy some sunbathing by the pool. The pools also have plenty of sunbathing chairs and beds, making it easy to relax and soak up the sun. The location of the hotel is perfect—just a one-minute walk to the private beach and only 7-10 minutes from the shopping center, and the beautiful Old City. Considering all the fantastic aspects I’ve highlighted, I wholeheartedly recommend Mitsis Grand Hotel. You will undoubtedly enjoy your stay, and if you encounter any issues, the wonderful staff will go above and beyond to ensure your experience is nothing short of amazing! And now... you can see the pictures I took from there, and drool!

Bit of a disappointment. Having stayed at dozens of 5* resorts, I'm really not sure how this qualifies. The building is very commanding and the grounds well kept, but past the reception area, it's very tired. On arrival there were 7 of us across three rooms. We had specifically requested one room on the lowest level possible for our parents, one of whom struggles with Acrophobia. All three rooms were offered on the 3rd floor. Trying to negotiate a 1st floor room for them was met with a lot of resistance. Our room on the 3rd floor was tired, to say the least. Mostly clean but the peeling wallpaper, bathrooms held together with layer upon layer of silicone and paint (along with a bit of damp mould) weren't what we expected of a 5* resort. The second room on the 3rd floor was supposed to be a family room. There was just a double bed. Apparently you have to call to remind reception you have a child and they bring you a fold out bed to put in a double room which can only fit directly below the AC unit. Decor was totally different as if it's had at least an attempt made at bringing it up to scratch, but the 2" wide hole where the previous door handle had been was a pretty rugged touch. The third room on the 1st floor overlooked the entrance and was again totally different. Aside from the bathroom being half the size of the other two, it was quite a bit nicer. Since this was not just a family holiday but also an big wedding anniversary, we asked ahead of arrival if we could pay to have a cake, flowers and champagne delivered to the parents room one day. On arriving back from the pool to shower for dinner one evening, we found them in ours and had to call reception to ask them to relocate them to the correct room. Paying for them (which couldn't be done in advance was a bit of a nightmare. When we checked in we were told we couldn't pay for them until they had been delivered. The following morning we tried to pay again and were told we had to wait for the concierge who was almost always either busy, or not there. On the first trying to pay, we also asked if we could book the Italian. Apparently fully booked all week but we would be out on a waiting list. The next day we got a note under the door to say it's booked. For 3 people. When we tried to explain this was an anniversary dinner for 7, we were told it's not possible. We asked to move to the Asian restaurant and were sent over to the concierge, who told us to go to guest relations. We walked to guest relations, who told us to go back to the concierge. We explained we had just been sent around them all and in doing so, the concierge walked passed and an argument between them ensued about who was more busy, while we sat there... That was just the first two days. The third day none of us actually saw, because we were all in our rooms with a horrendous stomach bug, as we're half the rest of the hotel for the next 3 days. Outside around the pool we were almost always able to get 7 sunbeds so long as we were out by 9am. Easy. Not so easy finding 7 which weren't broken, rusty, or otherwise falling apart. Seating area out by the main pool is staffed by polite and attentive ladies who continually run back and forth bringing drinks, but only venture near the pool to collect glasses. This hotel only SAYS its 5*, so don't expect to be offered drinks here. Also worth noting that if you sit in the line of chairs closest to the indoor pool, there is a constant smell of sick/sewage. Reception staff aside, the rest of the staff are very pleasant and only too happy to help you in any way they can whether in the bars, restaurants and elsewhere. All of the food is great. Incredible choice of hot and cold meals and deserts at the buffet but expect to be only offered a single drink on arrival. The ice-cream and crepes on tap was particularly good, as was the Greek restaurant and pizza. In all, a great location, let down by lack of re-investment and some miserable staff out front and lower than 5* service across the board.

Without hesitation, we would recommend any of the Mitsis hotels to friends and family looking for a luxurious, memorable...

And now... you can see the pictures I took from...
