After being recommended of this restaurant via a foody friend, my mind was blown how good it was. The service was so special and friendly. The way they greet you on arrival is phenomenal and really a sign of the exceptional service that follows. It was very busy there with a queue almost around the corner however, those in line were teased with plates of food to whet their appetite and refreshed with drinks whilst they waited. For us, we were lucky and were seated immediately. Me and my freshly wed wife were made to feel like royalty and even though the restaurant was packed, got all the attention we needed. As for the food, we had some bread starters which came with an amazing new discovery for me; Olive pate. Even my better half, who doesn't really like olives, was hooked, eating the majority of it, to my chagrin. For main I had the rack of lamb and she had a traditional lamb/pasta dish. As a Welshman I don't say this lightly but that was the best lamb dish I have ever tasted. Delicious,, supple, tender and portioned well with some creamy mash, it was a dream to eat and very light on the wallet considering the superior quality of food on offer. There were a few more surprises to come during the meal but I won't spoil that for you. What I will say is that of your ever in Rhodes, make sure you visit this quality eatery for yourselves. You will...
Read moreLet’s start with the highlight: the manouri salad was absolutely delicious. Fresh, balanced, and genuinely impressive. If the rest of the meal had followed that example, this would be an easy five-star review.
Unfortunately, the beef giouvetsi didn’t live up to that promise. The sauce was watery, the flavor pretty average, and it desperately needed more salt. The beef itself was tender, but it felt like it was stranded in a pool of watery tomato sauce.
The shrimp saganaki had very fresh shrimp, which was great, but the sauce was again just… okay. Not bad, but not memorable either.
And then came the baklava, which sadly went overboard with the syrup. The filo was completely soggy, and the flavor was one-dimensional. I’ve had plenty of Greek baklava before, usually with lovely spice notes like cinnamon or clove, but this one was just sweet and flat.
On the bright side, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was really lovely. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome, which definitely added to the experience.
Overall: • Manouri salad: Amazing. • beef giouvetsi: Needed work. • Shrimp saganaki: Fresh shrimp, bland sauce. • Baklava: Too syrupy, no crunch. • Service & atmosphere: Wonderful.
Final verdict: Tamam means “okay”, and that pretty...
Read moreIf you are in Rhodes this restaurant is the one place you must dine in. The food is impeccable and each dish is uniquely divine. Large servings and fresh ingredients. I rarely write a review but this place merits all the 5 stars. If you find there is a line to get in, get in line! It's well worth the quick wait - they are very efficient here in a non rushed manner. The wait staff are very kind and the owner is an absolute delight. I came here multiple nights in what was a short trip to Rhodes. I couldn't wait to eat the first night and as such some photos don't show the originally presented product. I highly recommend any seafood dish, as well as the feta wrapped in eggplant. At the end of your meal you'll receive two treats, just another example of how this place goes above and beyond. Eating in Rhodes can be complicated because of the number of Tourists trap restaurants and mediocre meals, as such this restaurant is worth the visit in many ways. Each party upon leaving says goodbye to the owner and comments on how good their meal was, not many places can do this. Any negative review comes from someone who is better off cooking their own food and staying at home. Please for your own good and for an excellent culinary experience...
