BARBAROSSA SEASIDE — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

Terrible experience. My girlfriend and I sat down at 1315 and ordered some drinks which were good (hence the single star). After about 15 minutes we decided to get some lunch as well, so she ordered their toast, but requested the tomatoes be removed, and a side of fries. I ordered a hamburger.

35minutes pass, and the toast came out with tomatoes. "No issue, honest mistake" i said while sending her meal back. Another 15 minutes pass, and she gets her toast back. We check for tomatoes just to be sure, and they have obviously just scraped the tomatoes off and given it back to us. (Please note that I have not seen the hamburger I ordered at all during this exchange.) We send her toast back again and asked for "absolutely no tomatoes, please"

10 minutes later they came back with an under-cooked toast with, thankfully, no tomatoes.

ANOTHER 25 minutes pass - at this point I'm starting to get pretty dang hungry - and i finally get my burger. Cold. Same with the fries, dead cold. All hope is lost, and we decide just to eat it and leave.

After all this, they still found it in their hearts to charge us over €60.

All in all, if you plan on eating here, make sure you go down to their sunbeds as this is the area that seemingly got the most attention.

We're just tourists, but for what it's worth - we will absolutely not come back and I advise anybody reading this to...

I would honestly not eat here even if it was for free!

We decided to have a look at the menu, and the waiter (tall old guy) asked where we Would like to be seated. We did say we were having a look at the menu, however, we may be back as we wanted to have a look at the restaurant next door. He was honestly so rude and very abrupt; he said “if you can’t afford it, go to McDonalds”, there were a few swear words exchanged between him and myself, but I honestly had to remove myself from that situation, as his demeanour was foul and he became very aggressive.

I decided to talk to a manager about her/his staff, however he/she wasn’t there, so I spoke to the lady who was working there. She denied the waiter is their staff, she actually said he is crazy and “pretends” to be staff. It was apparent the waiter was their staff as he was seating everyone.

I also mentioned to her I will be writing a review about the restaurant- she was very unhappy, unhappy to the point where she actually threatened me. She said not do that because the boss has a very strong connection with the police and I should be very careful.

Overall, do avoid this place. They don’t seem to understand the first thing about customer service.

I visited here twice with my husband during our stay. The first time we were handed menus when we sat down but no one came again to ask our orders. We tried to wave to waiters but they were talking to each other or just standing still. We gave the place another chance the next evening and got the same service: we got menus but no one came in 30 minutes to ask what we want. Finally my husband went to talk to the waiter that we'd like to order. The waiter was rude and yet again we waited for our order almost another 30 minutes. Wine was served in plastic cups and both white- and red wine did not taste good.

The person in the street who asked people to come in to their restaurant was unbelievably rude. One night when we visited another restaurant by the beach he told us that he saw us going there and then blamed us for going there and not to his restaurant.

The view was stunning and the best thing in the place but it was not worth it. The service we got here was the worst we've ever gotten and unfortunately we cannot recommend this place to anyone. Even this one star from us...
