Ouzo ston pinaka — Restaurant in Municipality of Thessaloniki

We went because it was considered a good restaurant, but unfortunately the experience was so good that it ruined our day. First the waiting was horrible and frantic, it was more important for them(the restaurant) to fill the tables. Of course, they took our order quickly but then the waiting game began, fist the wine came 30 minutes. Instead of salad first, 1 of our appetizers were served ice cold (grilled mushrooms) 1 hour. After 1 hour and 30 minutes our second appetizer arrived again stone cold(fried cheese/ saganaki), disgusting. In the meantime the staff continues to set up more tables in the alley and continues to seat new customers even though the kitchen is obviously overwhelmed. 1 hour and 50 minutes finally our 2 salads arrived. 1 Greek salad which was more of an onion salad with a few tomatoes, and cucumbers cut with an axe most likely... And, a beetroot salad which was eh.. decent but nothing special. In the meantime waiting on our meat platter and slowly eating our salads one of the waiters dropped a bowl of mustard sauce directly landing behind my wife's chair, of course it coated my wife's clothes/hair/the chair and window next to her. The waiter saying nothing went to the kitchen to get another, after serving the intended table, he came back and said in an ironic way "sorry my tray is slippery" and vanished. Everyone around us saw the what happened. a few customers helped clean my wife's clothes but she had to wash up in the bathroom which had a broken paper towel dispenser so she had to go to the men's room. In the meantime the staff just went business as usual seating and bring more tables from nearby closed restaurants to fit as many "victims" as they can. NOT ONE PERSON FROM THE RESTAURANT OFFERED TO CLEAN THE CHAIR OR REPLACE IT, NOR, THE WALL NEXT TO MY WIFE . Of course, upon return my wife sat for a few minutes to gather her self, the meat platter was nowhere in sight.we called for the head waiter/owner? We offered to pay for what was brought to us but he correctly let us leave free of charge. It's a shame for them, putting profit over...

Πολύ παλιό μαγαζί στην πλατεία Αθωνος στη Θεσσαλονίκη σε όμορφη τοποθεσία. Όμορφη ζέστη ατμόσφαιρα και αρκετός χώρος αλλά και καθαρός. Σήμερα που πήγαμε είχε και ζωντανή μουσική αρκετά καλή. Όσο αφορά τώρα το φαγητό κάποια πιάτα ήταν πολύ νόστιμα και άλλα καθόλου. Από όσα πήραμε δε μας άρεσαν καθόλου τα κεφτεδακια της γιαγιάς που το κρέας(κιμάς) ήταν εφάμιλλο κονσέρβας και δε τρωγόταν. Το μπουγιουρντι επίσης δε μας άρεσε ήταν αδιάφορο προς κακό. Όλα τα υπόλοιπα συνοδευτικά και κυρίως πιάτα ήταν νόστιμα. Οι ποσότητες δεν είναι οι αναμενόμενες, έχει μικρές ποσότητες σε όλα τα πιάτα. Οι τιμές είναι ακριβές και σε κάποια είδη πολύ ακριβές. Ενδεικτικά 4,5 για απλές πατάτες τηγανιτές είναι πολλά. Επίσης 4.40 για 4 ψωμακια(1,10 το άτομο και χωρίς να ενημερωθούμε) τα οποία και ήταν κάτω του μετρίου και όχι φρέσκα είναι υπερβολική τιμή. Επίσης 20 ευρώ για 400 γραμμάρια παϊδάκια μαύρου χοίρου που πάνω από 300 γραμμάρια δεν ήταν είναι πολλά. Στα 20 ευρώ θα έπρεπε να είχε 3 παϊδάκια αυτού του μεγέθους για να είναι 400 γραμμάρια. Η τηγανιά στον πίνακα νόστιμη σχετικά όμως σχεδόν όλο το πιάτο ψωμί και ελάχιστη τηγανιά επάνω . Στο νόστιμο καζαρέτσε ψάχναμε να βρούμε το κοτόπουλο, σα να παραγγείλαμε σκέτη μακαρονάδα αλά κρεμ ήταν. Γενικά οι μερίδες είναι δυσανάλογες της τιμής τους. Όσο για την εξυπηρέτηση ήταν μέτρια. Είχαν σχετικά αρκετό προσωπικό όμως δεν υπήρχε σωστός συντονισμός. Αρχικώς αργήσαμε αρκετά να παραγγείλουμε. Έπειτα από ώρα ήρθαν κάποια ορεκτικά. Μετά, τα 3 από τα 4 κυρίως πιάτα ερχόταν με διαφορά τουλάχιστον 7 λεπτών. Και ο 4ος της παρέας έπρεπε να περιμένει τουλάχιστον 30 λεπτά επιπλέον για να φάει τα άθλια κεφτεδακια της γιαγιάς, και την ίδια ώρα ήρθε και το ξεχασμένο μπουγιουρντί που δε φάγαμε όπως είναι φυσικό. Πληρώσαμε σχετικά γρήγορα και είχε επιδόρπιο παγωτό. Μου αρέσει πολύ το παγωτό όμως εντάξει Δεκέμβρη μήνα έχουμε. Τουλάχιστον ενημερώστε και μη λέτε να σας φέρουμε γλυκό αλλά παγωτό.

Συνοψίζοντας, δε φάγαμε όλοι μαζί σαν παρέα αλλά καθένας ξεχωριστά αφού τα πιάτα αργούσαν,με τον τελευταίο να απογοητευτεί και να φάει ίσα ίσα λίγο πριν φύγουμε. Είχα πάει πριν 10 χρόνια και το μαγαζί αυτό δεν ήταν έτσι, ήταν πολύ καλύτερο. Δε ξέρω τι σας συμβαίνει πάντως προσωπικά το πιθανότερο είναι μη πάω ξανά, υπάρχουν πολλές επιλογές εκεί γύρω στις πιο οικονομικές και ίσης ή καλύτερης ποιότητας. Ευχαριστώ για το χρόνο σας προσπάθησα να είμαι όσο πιο δίκαιος γίνεται. Προσπαθήστε και έχεις με τη σειρά σας να προσέχετε τους πελάτες σας. Και ένα ευχαριστώ οτάν φεύγουμε από το μαγαζί θα ήταν αρκετό, έτσι...

A valid restaurant but wouldn’t really recommend it if you’re looking for a true greek cuisine experience. We got the platter for 2 which was pretty nice overall but the chicken was dry. We also got the goat cheese with blueberry sauce which we enjoyed and a greek salad which was just okay. The giagias meatballs weren’t nice and the tzatziki in my opinion was overpriced(€4,50).
