0⭐ for these SCAMMERS. We arrived with a tour Company "SeaJets" and our Tour Guide "Maria" told us to trust her and she will take us to a restaurant where she regularly eats when she goes taking around tourists. She said trust me it's great and follow me... Even if you mention my name "Maria" you will get a 10% discount and a free coffee... Everything just to convince you to go there with her. Once there we asked to be seated inside where it's cool since the temperature outside was 32C and we were traveling with a 3 year old. I ordered a chicken gyro and I was asked if I wanted fried potatoes or bread with my gyro so I chose potatoes, for our 3 year old son we ordered spaghetti with chicken no sauce, the manager(grey short hair) suggested, "chicken on the side" and we replied no in the pasta but he insisted that the kid might like it on the side, my wife repeated and confirmed, "no in the pasta". My wife ordered seafood spaghetti and asked what type of seafood is on it and if it was all fresh or frozen and there is where the rudeness from the manager started with a reply, "look around, where do you think that you are". We chose to ignore his incompetence and false pride she still ordered it. My wife had a final question, "what type of sauce is on the pasta?", the Manager rolled his eyes and with an aggressive tone said, "WHAT, what sauce, seafood" as he waved his hands around in the air.
OUR DRINKS... 1 Cola, 1 iced tea, and 1 water... All was fine but a very large and heavy self-filled and cooled water bottle was brought to the table. We had asked for a glass of water but another waiter said we have no smaller but you can take the bottle with you. I insisted we have no larger bag to carry it and to bring us another Cola instead of the water. As the waiter went back with the water you could see and hear the manager talking aggressively to him, obviously mad about our decision.
FOOD CAME OUT... First they served 3 pcs of crusty and hard bread with a bit of Tzaziki which we didn't order(in Creta we received these also complimentary even though that we said no thank you on the complimentary). My gyro was tasty and came still with bread and fried potatoes but no ketchup or mayonnaise so I asked if I could have some mayonnaise. The seafood pasta came out with about 5 oysters and some tiny, mini shrimp which looked and tasted like canned food. The spaghetti with chicken plain and with the chicken still on the side as the rude and rushing manager insisted even though we clearly ordered in the spaghetti. The chicken breast was about 1cm thick and 10cm long.
THE BILL CAME!!! €96 we knew the prices of course from the menu and were ok with them but nothing added up. Here's a list 3 meals and 3 drinks. €09 Apetizer Bread (€3 per person/€3 per piece) (The bread which we never ordered) €18 Chicken Gyro(PRICE OK) €07 Fried Potatoes (was supposed to be option either bread or potatoes with the gyro but SCAMMED as extra) €05 MAYONNAISE!!! (SCAM, which restaurant charges for that or that much if anything) €14 PLAIN SPAGHETTI (OIL) (PRICE ALRIGHT) €18 Chicken Fillet(BIGGEST SCAM supposedly the chicken which we ordered in the chicken Spaghetti for our 3y/o Son.) That is why he insisted to put it on the side, he SCAMMED us for a whole chicken fillet meal with nothing else with it (a chicken fillet meal doesn't come plain with nothing else)SCAM! €23 Seafood Spaghetti (PRICE OK) canned shrimp...not ok. Drinks were also alright at €4/Coke/Pepsi and €5 Iced Tea.
As we questing the managers ethics and pricing he QUICKLY BECAME VIOLENT YELLING AT MY WIFE AND PULLED BACK HIS ARM AS IF TO HIT HER!!! I had to jump up end shield out 3 year old son and try to protect my wife. HE WAS CURSING US OUT!!!
To Sum it up... STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!!! The travel/tour agency knowingly brings unsuspecting tourists to this restaurant to rip them off as I've read many other reviews like mine. I asked around on the bus. A couple ordered 2 salads paying €45 tomato, cucumber and onion. Another young couple ordered 1 dish...
Read moreI would like to express my gratitude to the owner of the restaurant and his staff . We arrived in Santorini on the 7th October and were picked up by a van and brought up to Oia and Fira. On our arrival to Fira the guide (Maria)who was working with our group offered us to try food at the restaurant she likes. Which is 1500 BC. Unfortunately we had other plans and couldn't join the guys on the first day. But we did on the next day. And had no regrets whatsoever. Me and my friend went for dinner there, there was life music, saxophone, everyone was friendly and caring. We ordered some cocktails and snacks. I must admit that every single piece of food that was brought to the table was a masterpiece. Even my favorite Greek salad was soooooooo good that I scrapped the original idea to share it with my friend and ate it myself 😃. I noticed how professional staff was as I work at the bar myself and pay attention to details. I would like to warn people who are traveling to Santorini in order to get a cheap and cheerful meal- you shouldn't be traveling to Santorini. The restaurants are there for us to provide the right service so we could all enjoy the moment and inhale the happiness. So if you're want to experience the good quality food and have a good quality time, 1500 BC is the right one. Our guide Maria did say to us that if we order food at the restaurant we get coffee on the house which was an option and we were offered it. but honesty after such a lovely dinner with cocktails, amazing food and music the last thing we wanted was coffee. And I am a coffee addict 😃. So for me to say no to a free coffee was a very courageous act😃. We also happened to meet the owner's wife who was so nice and kind to us that neither me nor my friend wanted to leave this place. To sum it up, I read the reviews about this restaurant and thought the only way to find out is to go there and I am so happy we did. Thank you very much 1500 for the best service ever and amazing food. A special thanks to our guide Maria who was looking after us during the trip, helping us and guiding us into making the right decisions and not wasting our time. I traveled a lot and she is one of the the best. And I so glad she recommended the place to eat as well. Hope it...
Read moreDO NOT DINE HERE unless you want to get ripped off and feel horrible walking out.
Catch and Bait Scheme… Our intention was to dine at the highly trendy restaurant next door Borrolos. At our arrival the arrogant “George” at the door said there’s no way we can be seated-but with asking to wait at the bar magically a table opened up but unfortunately no view. We opted to walk out.
Onc the tables turned- he wanted to escort us to his sister restaurant they had a table with a view and we chose to sit bc of the horrible winds and hunger. I wish I waited before deciding.
Unfortunately distastefully we were influenced repeatedly to order the most expensive items off the menu like the Catch of the day & or Tomahok- we charged for the biggest fish they can find. Lol.
Our drinks were up charged more than the most expensive drinks we had in MYKONOS. $35 for a Patron Tequila? The most we payed was $25 for a higher shelf Tequila in Mykonos.
We love to splurge where it is worth it and not pushed and persuaded beyond normalcy.
I left very disappointed in all the up charges and trying to milk the most out of us. I’ve read your reviews and you are known for his kind of business. Not fair to Santorini to have this type of hospitality present. We have had A+ experience at the most expensive, trendy and respected restaurants. Shame on your training to your staff and all the horrible reviews with the same...
