As aforementioned from other comments, this restaurant also charged us a service fee. Not only that, when we sat down on the table, the waiter (also the one that calls you in) gave us a menu with totally different prices from the board outside. I had to ask for the list for the offerings out front and that's when he gave that menu to us. The food was okay, basic and decent. But once the bill came, that's when we saw the service charge which was fine, we would've tipped otherwise albeit not that high but sure whatever. Wait.. math person as I was, I decided to add the breakdown and noticed it was calculated wrong. Coincidence? Maybe. Intentional? Maybe. They could've done that to many unsuspecting tourists and have been getting away with it for all we know. So calculate your bill and practice addition lol 😆 He apologized after I pointed it out but I couldn't shake the feeling how off it was. After reading other reviews here, I really hope they improve their services to not ruin a possibly good business they have on the main street 😞

We walked by and noticed the diners there didn't scream tourist, so we decided to try it. It's a hole in the wall, so expectations weren't high but we really enjoyed our food! Service was excellent, food portions great, and the prices reasonable. The prices are on par with other restaurants nearby, and from our experience, every restaurant charged us a 10% service fee on the bill. We always review the bill no matter where we go, but they didn't try to pull one over us. In fact, they forgot to charge us for a drink! We liked their taco al pastor so much, we came back a second time before we left Panajachel.

Dinner comes with a free soup and bread or tortillas; I chose the bread with butter. I got the fish, thought I ordered a fillet but got the whole one. Comes with sides of veggies, rice & guacamole. Very filling, great price, fresh and local. The people who work here are very nice. Recommended if you're in the area.

Actually, the food was really nice but they tease you in with a (conparatively) low set meal price to then surprise you with an unmentioned service fee, pretending it is normal for the area. To us it seemed that 20Q service fee on a total amount of 60Q for the meals seems outrageous and no other restaurant around did...
