My girlfriend and I walked to this restaurant for dinner. The first thing we noticed was the stylistic ancient Mayan aesthetic. We were immediately greeted by the staff who were polite, friendly, and welcoming. We were offered the menu in English or Spanish and even allowed to choose where we would like to dine. We opted for the rooftop since it was a nice night but the bar had a cool vibe of its own. We ordered the Rose drink which was good and included the best cherry I ever had in my life lol. Our waitress was patient and helped us choose menu items to try. We went with the appetizer yuca cracklings and pork shank. The cracklings were so good that we ordered another as our entree arrived. The shank was a great introduction into Mayan cuisine. The meat was so tender. It paired well with the mash potatoes, gravy and pumpkin seeds. We even had a waiter talk to us about the dishes and he was excited to share his cultures cuisine. The second round of appetizers took a little long for the host’s standards so he ended up giving it to us for free, even though we didn’t mind the wait.
