Las Antorchas in Antigua, Guatemala, is a true gem that perfectly combines great food, excellent service, and a charming atmosphere. The restaurant offers a lovely outdoor dining area featuring a small, serene fountain that adds to the relaxed and inviting ambiance.
Our experience was delightful from the moment we arrived. The server was courteous and attentive, and the service was impressively quick without feeling rushed. The menu boasts a wide range of options to satisfy any craving.
I opted for the baby back ribs, which came in a generous serving size—so much that I had to take the leftovers home. The ribs were tender and flavorful, making them a standout dish. My friend chose the tilapia, and judging by how quickly they finished it, it was just as satisfying. We ended the meal with dessert, which was a perfect balance—not overly sweet but deliciously indulgent.
Overall, Las Antorchas offers a memorable dining experience with great food, prompt service, and a pleasant setting. It’s a place I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Antigua, whether for a casual dinner or a...

In December 2024, we ordered 10 oz. of tenderloin medallions, relatively small round slices of beef from a fillet, with Roquefort blue cheese, 3 peppers, jacked potato and vegetables (GTQ169). The medallions were tender and tasted very good. Very enjoyable dish. Service was attentive and friendly, although the wait during peak hours was longer than expected. Reservations might be useful.

Read moreWe love Las Antorchas and have returned once again to this gem of a restaurant from two visits last year.
My wife and I had a late afternoon supper on the garden patio and were hosted by the delightful Jorge, who took wonderful care of us. We walked in with no reservation and would return just for the service alone.
We found Las Antorchas last year, loved its Swiss-Guatemalan mix of food and attentive service, not to mention its comfortable old-world atmosphere. We’ve dined here as a couple and also hosted a very large family dinner for a wedding last year. Las Antorchas delivered perfectly to both our large and small groups.
They’re known for their meats, and for a good reason, but I can recommend their Macaroni de las Andes, a sophisticated take on mac ‘n’ cheese. Our Ceasar salad yesterday was tasty and robust. French fries/pomme frites/papas fritas also beyond perfect.
Thank you, Las Antorches. We will return...
