I wish I had read the bad reviews before coming here and eating "cockroach dumplings." I assume this place stays in business because of its excellent location near a tourist attraction (El Arco de Santa Catalina), drawing enough new diners who haven’t checked the reviews to keep it open.
We ordered dumplings and pork in salsa agridulce, and as we were eating, a small cockroach crawled out of the dumpling basket and ran across the food. To make matters worse, they still had the audacity to attempt to charge us a 10% tip on the bill.
Now, I’m sitting in another restaurant, unable to eat, feeling nauseated just thinking about those "cockroach dumplings." There's no excuse for such a lapse in hygiene, especially since this is not a budget restaurant. They need to call pest control.
The only redeeming factor was the cute cat wandering around, but that’s definitely not enough to make up for the terrible experience—and it’s probably not sanitary to have her around either.
Please avoid this place...
Read moreSu Chow is a gem in the heart of Antigua, offering an outstanding Chinese dining experience. The food here is truly noteworthy. I sampled a range of dishes, including the pork chow mein, veggie spring rolls, and veggie dumplings, all of which were excellent. The chow mein was the perfect balance of hearty pork and fresh noodles, while the veggie spring rolls and dumplings were packed with fresh vegetables, giving a satisfying crunch in every bite.
Also, don't miss out on their Jamaica Flower Cold Tea! It was refreshingly unique, providing a cool and delicious respite that complements their dishes perfectly. The restaurant also provided top-notch service, ensuring that the dining experience was smooth and enjoyable.
I would highly recommend Su Chow to anyone looking for authentic, tasty Chinese food in Antigua. You won't be...
Read moreTerrible food, small portions and extremely overpriced. Me and my partner were starving, so still ate everything we were served. We payed more for this meal than we would have in Australia and it was far worse than anything i've ever had anywhere.
They charged us a large tip without asking, when i asked for the tip to be removed the waiter refused saying that we ate all the food so we must have liked it. The "spring rolls" were actually a terrible version of a cold roll. The sweet and sour pork dish we had was friend pork covered in marmelade that they served with soy sauce.
I'm 30 and this is the first time in my life i've ever written a bad review for any establishment food or otherwise.
Please do yourself a favour and don't go here. if there was an option for 0/5 stars i would...
