Uuuhmami — Restaurant in Sacatepéquez

This was by far one of the best gastronomical experiences I have ever had - and for a great deal!!! The home is cozy and architecturally beautiful, a great design for these small dinners. I messaged for a reservation the morning of and was able to get a table for myself and my parents, loved the availability on short notice! The chef made sure to ask if we had any dietary restrictions or preferences. Four plates for 240 quetzales was so worth it, a great value. Every course was delicious, beautifully plated and great portion sizes as well! Spaced out at a good distance so you are never too full but never hungry. The host, chefs, and dog who stay at the house were all kind welcoming and great additions to the environment. It really felt like being hosted by a friend for dinner. Had big expectations based on the reviews, unfortunately this feel short of all of them.

The food is good, but the servings extremely small. I suggest eating before as you’re going to be starving and nothing will be open when the meal ends.

Which brings me to the next point, there were only 3 tables, all individual groups, yet it takes them one whole hour after arrival to serve the first plate.

Too make thing worse, anytime you get a plate, expect their dog to come up to your table and try to eat and hang around your table…

Eating with dogs is not my cup of tea, but maybe that, along with long meals and small portions is yours.

Definitely one of the more unique dining experiences I’ve had in Antigua. The venue/house of the host is stunning and incredibly designed to say the least, both from an architectural standpoint but also in terms of the warm ambiance. The food was as delicious as it was interesting and unconventional, with a creative approach to combining ingredients, the food introduced new flavors to my palette in which I haven’t experienced before which made it fun.
