Edit: After being here for a second time, i adjust my review from 2 to 5 stars. The owner Andy was welcoming and eager to give us a very good second impression of the restaurant. The whole staff was so friendly! Thank you very much.
Again we ordered the same Pastas as before to compare the difference. They were way better than at our first visit (which might have been a mishap with the pasta cooking time as we suspected). The Tofu was cross outside and soft inside, really good.
We had the Dumplings as a starter and they were so good! They came with a salad that was even better, delizioso! I couldn‘t get enough of it.
All the meals at Once Once are quite big, i couldn‘t finish my pasta but took the leftovers for later.
Thank you team for giving us a warm welcome and a delicious lunch.
old review: Nice ambiance and friendly staff, a free and very good vegetable soup at the beginning.
Sadly, the 2 pasta dishes (Mac‘n‘cheese and Fettuccine) were overcooked a lot, like not edible overcooked. They came with Tofu sticks that were really dry, i don‘t think they have been fried freshly - tasted more like being fried for a second time which is a nogo.
Writing this review makes me sad because i read so many good things about this restaurant. At a first glance at the Menu i wanted to come for at least 3 times, which i now will not be doing.
I am writing this to give the team room to improve since i love the concept and feel like they had a really bad day today (at least with the pasta and...
Read moreStaff were rude and inattentive--were too busy on their phones or chatting. Food is below average and very overpriced. I asked for no onions and to confirm whether the meal was gluten-free due to dietary restrictions. The staff were unaware of what gluten was (yet were still making gluten-free recommendations) and brought me my meal with onions inside. I was then told that when I said no onions they weren't sure if I meant on the inside or outside, which is ridiculous. When I then tried to re-confirm whether it was gluten-free she tried to argue with me and tell me that she told me it wasn't because it had soy chunks in it. Not allergen aware at all and poor attitude from staff.
Edit: I never said it was a gluten-free restaurant. I asked which options were gluten-free. I am fully aware there is contamination risk but that is different from food containing gluten. People have different levels of allergies and intolerances. Your staff should not be making gluten-free recommendations if they don't know what gluten is or what is gluten-free especially since in the first instance she told me the meal option was gluten-free! What an unprofessional response from this restaurant. Soy is not gluten unless it has gluten added to it. Any restaurant should be aware of allergens/sensitivities...
Read moreAs a vegan for 6 years , I really wanted to love and support this place. While service is polite, I first visit with my partner and the complimentary soup was the best part of our meal. I had the enchiladas half green and red sauce. For the price they charge it should come with more than just soy crumbs inside the tortillas, it was also very dry. The ceviche was more like a tomato salsa, no lime flavor. We decided to give it a second chance thinking maybe we ordered the wrong things. The cauliflower wings were excellent, but I ordered onion rings for 50 q and received 5 onion rings on a huge plate. Mac and cheese was too intense smoky flavor where you can only eat so much before wanting to put the fork down. Before ordering the fettuccine the waitress warned me the plate would be spicy. I love spicy and the pasta had no spice or flavor, the dish was 84 Q. Springs rolls were mediocre at best. The "hash brown" was a dry hard waffle almost. The best part again was the soup, the dips were good and the cauliflower is all I would consider to go back for. For as much as they charge for a plate there is much variation and flavor lacking. They should really consider adding veggies to enhance the plates that only come with bland tofu as a meat substitute. Absolutely not the best vegan...
