Arrin Cuan Antigua — Restaurant in Sacatepéquez

Last night we had what was probably the worst food we have had at any restaurant ever. Our first mistake was probably when they asked us if we wanted the spanish menu or the english menu. We took the english one. We were seeking some traditional Guatemalan food but when I asked about the turkey stew, they brought a waiter over that spoke more english and he told me that I would not like that but instead I should get the grilled turkey. I said ok and my husband ordered the spanish style beef tenderloin steak. We also ordered a mojito and a margarita. The steak came out abut 10 minutes ahead of the turkey. Whatever cut it was, it was definitely not a tenderloin. Basically it was a gristly triangular piece of shoe leather that should have been served with a chainsaw. When the turkey came out, I could see why it took longer because it was cooked to oblivion. My biggest regret was not taking a picture of this pathetic turkey leg. Totally inedible served with 4 pieces of some kind of veg arrayed on a piece of lettuce and a small portion of rice. We ordered a second round of drinks so that maybe we could choke it down. Although the first margarita came with a separate shot of tequila that they dumped into it at the table, the 2nd one didn't but they swore the tequilla was already in it we it didn't taste like it. The mojito was just weird. It was blended instead of crushed. I'm sure it would have given a Colombian a heart attack. The first one tasted ok but the 2nd one wasn't blended enough and had about a 1/2 inch thick mat of mint puree floating on the top. Try as I might to strain the mess through my teeth to get some of the liquid below, it was impossible and I was just left with a massive mouthful of mint mash. And this lovely meal set us back Q560 or about 80 bucks. Taco bell would have been better. I can't even wrap my head around these other reviews. My family and I are from Fort Lauderdale and we had breakfast here on December 24th. Since the food was so good I decide to go back today, December 26th, and grab 2 turkey club sandwiches that I saw on the menu previously. I waited about 20 minutes, got my sandwiches, and left. When I got to my destination in salt the same witches I was extremely disappointed and felt very ripped off. The sandwiches were not even big enough for a child. They are not cut in triangles like they were in the picture and they were only, I swear, eight french fries in each box. The bread was not even the same as what was in the picture. The bread was like cheap white bread that was very thin. The turkey meat was not even the same as what was in the picture. I really don’t recommend this place. We had lunch there and ordered coffee(15Q), but the coffee was the same coffee as any free coffee in a hostel. I asked why and they told me the coffee machine is unavailable and this coffee only cost 10Q. But no one told us about the situation before,If we knew we will not order. after communicating, the lady said you don’t need to pay for the coffee. But when we go to pay, that also charged us for coffee. I mentioned that you said we don’t need to pay for the coffee and she asked us did you drink that? And they even went to check the table.
