Amici Miei — Restaurant in Budapest

I’ve been a loyal regular customer to this restaurant for nearly 5 years. Carlo and Giovanni were always the coolest people. However, the female staff with dark long hair (used to work for the bar) managed to ruin our night. As we stood and waited to be seated (approximately 5-10 mins), not only did she openly decide to ignore us, but proceeded to flirt and exchange physical contact (touching arms/whispering in ears/kissing) with one of the male guests. As I kindly asked if we could seat ourselves instead at one of the free tables, she yelled, “No, I’m busy with a customer, go back there and wait!”with a hand gesture and an unpleasant attitude. It still disappoints me to say that while we addressed the situation to one of the male senior Italian/Hungarian staff, she not only taunted us with the words “oh, so now you want to sit inside?!” but also rudely interrupted and justify her rude behaviour. Naturally, we decided to leave without dining.

To the manager/owner: perhaps you should be training and educating your staff better. Don’t EVER hire people who can’t act professionally. NONE of your guests deserve to be treated in such disgusting ways. It certainly won’t be good for the business, especially in this close Corvin community where everyone basically knows each other.

Came here out of all the places on the square and was a little disappointed. First of all, there was no pizza 😶.... At an Italian. 🤦 We accepted this anyways so sat down and looked at the menu. The staff were friendly and honest.. possibly a little too honest but fine nonetheless. Drinks were reasonably priced and the cocktails were very tasty. When it came to ordering food I asked for chips with my meal but was told that there was also no chips. This did annoy me but had the rice instead. When the food did come out my chicken was warm but ended up being lukewarm by the time I had finished and the rice was very bland and didn't make the meal. We also only had 4/5 meals served because they "had to throw out the gnocchi and start again". So one of us was not eating while the rest of us were. The food for everyone else was good apart from the portion sizes - very small considering this is an Italian (usually they have quite large portions). Once they had taken our plates we were pretty much ignored, no one asked us if we wanted anymore drinks or desserts so after 10 minutes we decided to ask for the bill. While we were waiting I noticed that the table next to us were served "steak chips" with their meal so this annoyed me even more. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place - I can't give an opinion on the pizza (as there wasn't any!) but after that debacle I definitely...

Good and tasty food but terrible service. We came to this restaurant on a Wednesday evening around 20:30 which was fairly full but would not say that it was absolutely packed. There were 3 staff members and one of them brought us the menu so we could select our food. Then we were kind of forgotten and no-one came back to us for about 20 minutes. Even a table that came after us was served before ours. Anyways, in the end the waiter came and took our order that was prepared fairly quickly. The food was served by another staff member and then taken away by a third one (who was chewing a gum like crazy). Very interesting division of labor. After finishing our main dish we wanted to get dessert as well but we failed to get contact with any of the waters for quite some time... After a while we managed to ask for a menu that never arrived at our table. We asked the other waiter as well if we could get the menu but nothing... After waiting for 30 minutes in vain we just decided to take the cheque (the waiter asked "did not you want dessert?") and pay for the food, which was actually very good. I did not intend to tip at all because of the bad service but there is no need to do it, as the restaurant charges you anyways with a 10% service fee... I wonder how the the owners define "service" because that evening we did not get any. 5 star food but 1...
