BESTIA stay away... Brits, be careful here! I’m not often moved to write 1-star reviews, but the experience here deserves to be a cautionary tale for anyone who values honesty and basic decency in hospitality. We explicitly refused water for the table. It was brought out anyway, and like any reasonable diner would, we assumed it was complimentary, especially after the waiter opened and filled our glasses for us. After all, in most REPUTABLE establishments, a simple glass of water is a gesture of welcome, not a trap. Then came the bill. To our dismay, we were charged for something we neither ordered nor consented to. (See our receipt as proof). This isn’t just about a few pounds, it’s about principle. To charge customers for unrequested water is not hospitality, it’s exploitation. It is petty, deceptive, and frankly insulting. Quality restaurants are supposed to cultivate trust and goodwill; here, they’ve chosen to fleece their guests in the most underhanded way. If this establishment believes so little in the quality of its food and service that it must rely on trickery to increase the bill, that speaks volumes. Dining out is not just about eating, it’s about being treated with respect. What we experienced was the opposite. I can forgive mistakes. What I cannot forgive is a business model built on sly, predatory charges that treat customers not as guests but as marks. Shame on this restaurant. Until they learn the difference between hospitality and hustling, I would advise anyone with even a shred of self-respect to spend their money elsewhere. 19/09, not sure what little game is being played here but I have your business card along with the receipt, odd that when you say it's the wrong restaurant lol. Should I post that too? If not, I suggest you go speak to the imposter restaurant! Shaking my...

I tried to get a table late on Saturday evening when I just arrived as it looked nice and was near the hotel and Basilica and no chance so tried again tonight. So pleased I did.

Dorena the waiter was really great. Discussed food options and when I asked about local Hungarian red wine she offered to choose a glass for me. Normally a risk as I didn’t have the wine menu in front of me then and may be super expensive option… but I took a chance. A really good varietal and the wine waiter explained about the blend and taste. Will try to buy bottle before I leave. Mid price on menu too.

I knew what I wanted for entree and took her recommendation for mains. The pork ribs which were great, meaty and cooked perfectly, the sauce was really tasty too. I had read reviews before coming back as I should have done so for the Resto I went to the night before as not so good. The Goulash at Bestia was full of veggies and tender meat and importantly different flavors in it. The one the night before eas bland and not thick. The food matched reviews and the people who commented on the potatoes were spot on. Highly recommend given location, quality of food and wine. Serving sizes were right. Heavy food as I chose meats so didn’t want super size. All dishes passing looked good presentation wise also.

Was lucky to have a table facing the Basilica and square so view great and people passing which made eating alone pleasant. So if in Budapest give it a try. Prices mid range. I am only here a couple of nights as work trip so quality food near...

When you're looking for the perfect blend of extraordinary food and a vibrant atmosphere, Bestia in Budapest proves to be an exceptional discovery. Located with a view of St. Stephen's Basilica, this restaurant is not just a place to eat, but a complete experience that stimulates all the senses. From the very first moment, the venue envelops you with its contagious energy. The industrial-chic decor, with its soft lighting and meticulous details, creates an atmosphere that is both welcoming and dynamic. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends, the ambiance adapts perfectly, making every moment special. The background music, always on point, contributes to an unforgettable experience. But the real star is the food. Each dish is a work of art, a triumph of bold and authentic flavors. The attention to the quality of the ingredients is palpable and is reflected in every bite. From the succulent meats, cooked to perfection, to the creative and flavorful side dishes, every item on the menu is a tribute to great cuisine. The dishes are presented impeccably, demonstrating a care and passion that go beyond simple preparation. The service is another strong point. The staff is professional and attentive, ready to recommend the right wine or tell the story behind each recipe. Their passion for food and hospitality is felt in every gesture, making the service not only efficient but also...
