Not happy with this hotel so far. Cannot use safe and was told a guy would be able to help at 7 pm, then I was told the person might come tomorrow. As it turns out the receptionist does have the master key and it seems he just cannot be bothered helping at the time I asked for assistance. Air con is extremely loud, very hot and cannot be adjusted (despite receptionist say it will take one hour for this to take effect) and receptionist said all rooms are like that. Curtain does not cover all the way for the bed so lack of privacy... Just very annoyed with this hotel so far.

They managed to change my room, now the safe works, air con is not so noisy, but still quite hot...I think the air con is centrally controlled.

Carpet is also not vacuumed, felt really dirty when walking around with barefoot. This is not a four star hotel.

I still think the front line staff need to improve customer service. I asked about changing 20,000 Hungarian currency into something smaller and was rudely told I need to go to the bank. Eventually the guy gave in and instead of giving me four 5000 notes, he gave me two 5000 and one 10000 note. I have never encountered a hotel that isn't willing to help me to get smaller denominations. For something so simple and basic, is it necessary to treat the guest so badly?

Every where I go I get treated quite well, in national gallery, inside a church, in restaurants. Even the ticket inspectors are quite polite. This is the rudest service I encountered so far in Hungary, and you can see the staff here are not happy. Cleaning staff don't greet guests, breakfast staff just do the work without smiles. Unlike other hotels, where reception is always busy, it is like a cemetery nearly every time I...

3 night stay paid upfront in full. Hotel in good location and the room was adequate and clean. However, my initial room (403) was directly next to a noisy elevator shaft, and all night it sounded like someone opening and loudly closing a door as other guests were using the elevator on all floors. |The next day I asked to change rooms but was told that none would be available until the following day. I asked whether I would receive some form of refund or compensation as I would be staying in this room for two of the three nights I booked. I was told 'no' and, unbelievably, when asked why, I was told that I hadn't informed them that I was a light sleeper when making the booking. |Well, firstly I don't consider myself to be a light sleeper and secondly I wasn't aware that I had to explicitly request a room away from noise sources, particularly a noisy elevator shaft, when making the booking. |After a second night in the same room (403) I was eventually moved to another room (302) away from the elevator.|So out of the three nights I had one good nights sleep....hurrah!|Unfortunately, as regards any refund or compensation, I had paid for the booking upfront, I was feeling tired, I was looking forward to going home and I just didn't have the strength to argue the point.|My advice to anyone considering this hotel (it is in a good location), is if you want a good night's sleep make sure you ask for a room in a quiet part of the hotel well away from the elevator or any other noise source.|Please note that whilst I can only speak from experience about room 403 other rooms next to the elevator shaft include 305,...

The location is great, the room was clean and felt good.

Room 205 is a Deluxe Room, its quite spacious (5m to the TV), there's a good wardrobe and the bed is very comfortable.

The bathroom is modern and large too, but the space saving, curved front "triangular" shower was annoyingly tight for a 178cm guy. The large round shower head was very good.

As others have mentioned, the curtains only cover 80% of the windows...odd, but they do help with night vision and rising early.

There's a bar fridge and a good size flat screen but the air con and TV weren't working on day 1.

Reception had no other Deluxe rooms but assured us they would fix both problems.

They had the TV working by day 2.

There's no movie channel so they suggested I sign up to Netflix or Disney for the free trials, but I didn't have a local sim.

YouTube was available, but the preset TV volume is so low it was a struggle to hear anything, so we read subtitles on old movies and played background music for that Deluxe feeling.

Day 3, still no air con but plenty of promises including a fan which never arrived.

Our 3 nights were in mid May so it was cool, but without air-conditioning we kept waking up hot.

The internet was good, breakfast was good with pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurt, eggs, bacon, hash browns, baked beans, toast etc.

It's a great location but if you book room 205, bring a local sim, your lip reading skills and check if the air...

The hotel is very well located and overall quite nice. We stayed in a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment, but the layout was a bit unusual. Both bathrooms had their entrances from the living room—not from the bedrooms—so to use the bathroom, you had to walk out into the common area. This setup can be inconvenient, especially if you’re traveling with teenagers, like we were. If I forgot something like my makeup, I had to fully dress and walk back out to get it, since neither bathroom was en suite. Also, the hotel did not provide robes, which would have helped in this situation. One of the bathrooms wasn’t very clean. It had a glass door, and there was soap residue right at the handle, which made me question how thoroughly it had been cleaned. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and helpful. At checkout, they were kind enough to store our luggage so we could enjoy more time in Budapest without carrying everything around. One thing to keep in mind: the hotel has no dedicated loading zone. You’ll need to park around the corner and carry your luggage in from the street, which can be tricky if you’re traveling with children or have a lot of bags. Just plan accordingly.
