I had take out, so can't comment on overall experience. Their version of "egg rolls" look like sushi rolls. Completely different than what you'd see in a Vietnamese restaurant in the US. Their summer roll is actually the US "egg rolls"
I ordered spring and summer rolls (US egg roll). Egg rolls were good, but ordinary. Their spring roll was below average tasting and 85% noodles -- not recommended if on low carb. Oh and the items were over priced for Budapest
As an American tourists I will not return. This place is just nothing of note and better places to try.
[Edit - correction, response to owner] Spring and summer rolls swapped above in comparison to US egg rolls (fried). Spring rolls here look and taste like an egg roll you'd get in US.
Tay Ho Budapest,
I'm not giving you a bad review. It's just OK. Honest review that your prices are high. 1490 Ft for 2 summer rolls that is mostly noodles. You bite into it and look down center, its mostly noodles (85%). I wish I had taken a picture. Your "egg rolls" here are different - looks like sushi and your spring rolls look like egg rolls in US. Nothing wrong with that and didn't lower your rating. Your rating is what I put in my mouth and it was just 'OK'. If I had just ordered the mostly noodle summer roll, I would have given a 2 star, but the spring roll saved the day.
I clearly stated it was take out and what items I ordered. The rating is based on that small sample size for the google...

On arrival, the guy behind the counter stared at us when we said we’d made a reservation. and we felt so awkward. We sat on the sidewalk patio and ordered a soup to share and two entrees.
He brought the soup and a minute later my entree-wok chicken with veg and cashews. We asked that he take the entree back as we could not have the soup and entrees at the same time.
He then brought the entrees back before we had finished the soup. It was clear that the entrees were reheated as my dish was burnt! The cashews were black and he had the nerve to bring it to the table. I took the plate of food inside and told him the food was burnt and that it was inedible. I thought the kitchen would remake it but no, I sat waiting while my husband ate his Pad Thai. Also awful!
When I asked the guy if the kitchen was remaking my dish, he had the nerve to tell me we’d have to pay twice. We couldn’t believe what we were hearing.
He was super rude after that and we had to ask for the bill. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. What a pity as it was our last night in...
Read moreBún bò Huế or Tom Yum Soup??
As a vietnamese person I must say that this place is quite disappointing.. Ordered gỏi/nem cuốn as a starter and it was quite boring with mostly I've berg salad and rice vermicelli, a little bit of herbs and shrimps but overall a not exciting as they normally are, the sauce was okay. Then for mains we ordered phở bò and bún bò Huế and both of them were really disappointed. My partner who isn't vietnamese but has eaten phở quite a lot could already taste by the first sip that tje broth was lacking. The beef taste was weak, and lacking in both flavour, depth and spices. The bún bò Huế tasted like the phở broth added some Tom Yum paste? The first thing that came to mind when I tasted the soup broth was instant noodles with Tom Yum flavour (which is a nice instant noodle, but not what I want in bún bò Huế) I feel like both broths would taste better if they added the bouillon for phở and bún bò Huế.. the only positive about the soups was that the meat cuts were pretty decent. Wouldn't recommend the noodle soups at all, maybe try the rice dishes or stir fried dishes instead and...
