UPDATE: I am truly astonished that the owner previously responded by saying, “I am a beggar and don’t have money.” I regret not capturing a screenshot at the time. Now that you’ve changed your response, I’d like to remind you that when I specifically asked not once but several times, you told me, “it was tap water.” I didn’t intend to pursue this further, but your behavior has compelled me to respond again. Tap water in Budapest is generally safe to drink hence I asked for it, and there’s no need to be rude. You should have clarified it before, simple!

We asked for tap water, which they did provide, but then charged us 600 HUF for it. Definitely not recommended. They don’t live up to their name “INDUS” (river), who charge for the tap water in Budapest?. If you ask for the food feedback then please be acceptable to it as well. No doubt why the place had cold vibe just like a winter outside. Feel free to enjoy the cold and wintery vibe with service, hospitality and dry your pocket there. This bar has been an amazing experience for myself and my fiancée. We had three nights in Budapest, staying a short walk from the bar itself. We had the option of many bars on this street, but the atmosphere is really one-of-a-kind. The drinks are very reasonably priced for what you get, and the owner is so observant of every visitor. You can order a drink exactly as you like it, or ask for recommendations and he will not disappoint. We ended up coming all three nights to this amazing bar, trying everything from simple spritzers to extra strong special cocktails to shots of local liquor. After travelling across Europe for work I was fed up of western food and was craving some authentic desi food.

I searched on Google and came across this establishment and what a treat it was.

I ordered a hole bunch of mains which we all enjoyed very much. The chicken curry was super delicious and the fresh naan bread was perfect to soak up the hot spicy sauce.

Also had a biryanni and vegetable korma.

Had a good long conversation with the owner and what a great chap.

We spoke about desi food in Budapest and the local culture etc.

Overall very happy with the food and experience.

Will definitely return when I am next back in Budapest.
