After a fancy bar, we wanted something more young, fun, chill, and loud, so we went to Jardin cocktail bar.
We met an amazing fun staff. Muhtar was so friendly and professional. They have a great vibe, and it shows that they have fun at work.
All the guys we spoke with were students in the university, so give them a tip. They need extra appreciation :)
From what I understood, most of the staff aren't Hungarians, and it felt like that. Much more warm and welcoming, talkative, and smiling. It's such a nice feeling to be welcomed and not have a feeling like you are a burden (which is a feeling you sometimes get in Budapest in other places we've been to).
At the door, we met Sai (if I remember correctly), who was also such a cool guy, and we talked to him after we went out - let him in! It's cold :) And from what I saw, he also is a bartender, so Sai, I hope they let you back in, haha
Anyway. If you are looking for a more sophisticated place, there are other places for that. But if you are looking for a good time, young crowd, loud and good music (and if you are a bit tipsy like we already were), no nonsense and no arrogance and just fun, then this is your place!
The cocktails we had are more sweet and sweet sour, with a bit of a goofy look, and we enjoyed them. Mine came with cookies, which was just what I needed. But they do have all kinds of cocktails, so check them out.
I am sorry that I don't remember the name of the second bartender who was great as well.
Peace and love...
Read moreSeriously one of the most fun cocktail experiences ever! Gorgeous interiors and If you want unique cocktails and unique cups for your drinks, look no further. The service was amazing and the staff were so nice - they treated us to several rounds of free shooters (I guess leftover mix from the bar - all for it) and even some tequila shots before we left. I really wanted the bathtub(lol) but they couldn’t make After a Hard Day due to ingredients but they made me a similar drink and put it in the bathtub anyway lol! We also got the pink Za’atar which was so unique and delicious, the paparazzi (in a camera lens) so good, and I believe it was called the from 1880, also so yummy. Everything was great and was a great pre cursor to a visit to the Ruin Bars - definitely recommend you...
Read moreThis bar was a revelation. We found it while waiting for dinner nearby and were so lucky to have spent a few hours in the able hands of Ksenia and Hossein who are both highly capable bartenders.
Creative cocktails that are kitschy without being overdone, and still being balanced and tasty. The staff also have a fun and effervescent personality that, when coupled with the upbeat 80s music, makes for a fun and dynamic experience.
The Spanish tapas wasn't really on our radar as we had dinner reservations shortly thereafter, but we did try the pan con tomate which was delicious.
If you're looking for a unique experience in a fun and vibrant atmosphere while in Budapest, take a walk...
