Nice concept. A cross between fast-food and a restaurant type of place. You walk in, choose your pasta type and sauce and sit where you want. When in doubt you can ask for recommendations.
Went for the traditional carbonara and I'm used to getting it with tagliatella, but he recommended the bocotino(spelling?) which went very well with the carbonara. Also later I noticed that carbonara wasn't mentioned among the sauces on the board, but they didn't say that. They just made it. I know the ingredients isn't complex, but it's easy to mess up the sauce. I know from personal experience 😞 So they could have denied making it since it wasn't on the board and make me choose something else, but they made what I asked. Made me feel even more a (customer is) king.
Just 2 small things and that's why I give it 4 instead of 5 stars. Can't give 5- or 4,5 stars. So it's closer to a 5 star instead 4 review.
I only was given a fork. Don't worry... I would never blaspheme by using a knife with pasta, but a spoon would have made it easier to roll the pasta with the fork. If you want to insult an Italian use a knife 😜 second the bacon/pancetta was nice but I had two small pieces with a little hard grit on it. The chef should have noticed those and removed them...
Read moreWe came here TWICE 6 years ago and the food was excellent. Years later, the food has gone severely downhill. My tagliatelle ai funghi e crema, that's tagliatelle with mushrooms and cream was raw in clumps, I had to send it back. There was also way too much panna da cucina (cooking cream) used, no garlic, no black pepper. It reminded me a bit of how bad British cooks cook pasta dishes, swimming in sauce. Also, there was way too much parmigianno regianno grated cheese on top. I lived in Milan for years, and if Italians say this pasta is good, they're delusional. Maybe we went on an off day? The mortadella ravioli with 4 cheese sauce was similarly over creamy, over cheesy, way too al dente, lukewarm and flavourless. Sorry to say you could buy a similar sauce in a supermarket. Offered a choice of Hungarian or Italian wine. Assumed it was the same advertised 1500 forint a glass. However, the Italian was 2400 which they didn't mention. Their only saving grace was the good service and no 10 per cent added service charge. Severely disappointed and we would rather not have gone and spent our...
