📍Place: located on the edge of Jewish district, a small place with around 30 seats upstairs and a couple of them downstairs. The atmosphere is very simple but brings the Japanese vibes. Unfortunately ventilation is not the best so you might end up smelling tonkatsu. 🍛 Food: food is excellent, I have tried multiple dishes but the curry is my favourite especially with the crispy perfectly fried tonkatsu. The rice has a perfect texture and the portions are pretty sizeable. Prices are around 2000 HUF for the smaller portions, and 4000-5000 HUF for the larger. They offer Korean soju (peach/grape) as well on their drink menu (3300 HUF). I have tried their ramen and curry as well and I didn't have huge experience with these before so to me they all tasted great. The fried pork was beautiful, juicy on the inside and super crispy on the outside, with great quality rice and flavourful curry - not spicy at all. It's not the easiest to navigate through the menu, there are many options and variations so the advantage is that you can easily combine smaller portions for you and try different dishes. 👩🏻‍🍳 Service: real Japanese service they are super nice and kind. Some of them speaks Hungarian but everyone speaks English. Food arrives quite quickly and you can pay by SZÉP card as well.

Komachi Bistro is a cozy gem that excels in serving authentic and comforting Japanese fare. Specializing in ramen, gyoza, and rice bowls, this charming bistro keeps its menu focused and absolutely flawless. The ramen is a standout, with rich, flavorful broths and perfectly cooked noodles. Whether you prefer a creamy tonkotsu or a light shoyu broth, every bowl is a masterpiece. Their gyoza are little parcels of perfection—crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful inside, making them the ideal appetizer or side dish. The rice bowls are hearty and satisfying, with generous portions and well-balanced flavors that leave you craving more. The atmosphere at Komachi Bistro is warm and inviting, making it an excellent spot for a casual meal or a cozy dinner date. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring you feel well cared for from the moment you walk in. If you're looking for a place that delivers authentic Japanese comfort food, Komachi Bistro is the spot. Simple menu, extraordinary flavors—definitely worth a visit!

English: Komachi Ramen in Budapest serves up a dining experience that leaves no room for hesitation. I ordered the large chashu shoyu ramen, and from the first sip of the broth, I knew I was in for something special. The broth is nothing short of divine—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The noodles had just the right amount of bite, and the chashu was tender enough to melt in your mouth. It was so irresistible that I finished the entire bowl in under 10 minutes, completely silent, unable to stop myself from savoring every bite. Not stopping there, I also tried the curry rice, which was equally outstanding. The meat had a satisfying crunch on the outside while staying perfectly tender on the inside. The curry itself was well-seasoned, with a depth of flavor that complemented the impeccably cooked rice. It’s clear that attention to detail runs through every dish here. Komachi Ramen doesn’t just serve food—it delivers moments of pure culinary joy.

The Komachi bistro brings a piece of Japan to us. Though the interior of the restaurant may decieve you at first, with its two storey structure and simple furnishing, this is not an ordinary fast food place. Unfortunately they do not accept reservations, but the diverse choices you find will make you forget this inconvenience and let you dive into the world of Japan's tasty dishes - except sushi, which they lack. They are strong in the ramen line, the different preparation methods and ingredients used are detailed within the menu to help you choose easily the best for you. Thankfully the food is not too hot, but has a rich spicy flavour prepared by the native Japanese cooks. Portions are bit above normal size, even with a ramen one can get full. Great place for anniversaries, batchelor parties or to simply meet up with friends and enjoy a tasty meal.

Great price but nothing truly spectacular.

I was really craving some asian cuisine and one of my travel companions suggested this based on the 4.5 stars on google maps.

I ordered the Karaage Mini Don set which came with a mini ramen (your choice of miso/shoyu/shio broth), a mini karaage don and a mini cucumber salad. I also ordered a gyoza (japanese dumplings) add on and another mini tonkatsu don.

The ramen wasnt bad though sadly only came with half a hard boiled egg, green onions and some wood mushrooms. The noodles were had a nice chewy texture though a bit thicker than the ramen noodles I am accustomed to. The broth (the lifeblood of any ramen) was not memorable and honestly I could barely taste it. The mushrooms did provide a nice change in the texture profile. 2/5

The gyoza was a huge disappointment. There were visual signs of it been pan fried but the whole thing was soft and mushy and the dipping sauce taste like it was just soy sauce. 1/5

The mini karaage was quite good. The karaage was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The rice good and fluffy. Only complaint was that they put mayo on the whole thing. 4/5

The mini tonkatsu curry don was also quite delectable. Though the tonkatsu itself was overcooked in my opinion, it still paired well with the curry and rice. 3/5

And finally there was the cucumber salad. It almost felt like an afterthought but the fresh cucumber and the ginger dressing along with this unknown crunchy element to it was simply divine. Very refreshing and I could have honestly done with...
