Okay so this was a tough decision between three or four stars, but ended up giving four stars mainly for the atmosphere. This was our third time in Havana and I'm always puzzled. They are marketing themselves as a Cuban restaurant. But actually you can't get Cuban food here other than the Ropa Vieja. No plantain, no black beans, no Cuban bread nor white rice. I really miss proper Cuban food and if you're after that you have to be disappointed. They offer a mix of "Europeanized" versions of different Latin and Southern American food. The taco chips with pulled pork and guacamole was excellent though. It was really good. The Ropa Vieja was okay but overly salted. The chimichanga and the croquettes were tasty but they were lukewarm when brought to the table, and the portions were overly big. The frozen strawberry margarita was really good, but they took my glass away while I was dancing though there was almost half a glass left. You see that happen sometimes in Budapest, they're being overly efficient though there are people still sitting and eating. But the atmosphere they've created is really something else. You can't find this anywhere in town, and it really feels like you're in Havana. The dancers (bless them) come out and do a little dance and then get people on the dancefloor, and then they teach them some easy steps anyone can follow. And people are really going along with that and everyone's having a good time. It's really something wonderful. But one more critique goes to the band. It was a friggin Saturday night and they weren't playing live. They were there on stage but the music was clearly a playback and they were just pretending to be playing. It was really bad and hence there weren't a lot of people on the dancefloor during the band. It was a major disappointment because I remember how much people were enjoying the live music last year when it was really live music. But we still had a nice evening with our friends, and danced our hearts away. And for that I give them four stars. It's all for...

So the place is beautiful, but that's where the good things ended. Of the two staff working the floor at the time of our visit one was so miserable I found it incredibly difficult to stay positive about what was to come. To start my girlfriend and I both ordered mojitos; there was no lime in my mojito at all. Not one slice. We ordered two steaks, both were incredibly salty. I like to have some salt with my steak, but what I received was almost stomach churning. After mentioning this to the staff we were met with a shrug and nothing more. We also ordered grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes. The vegetables were also super salty. The mashed potatoes were actually pretty good, creamy and smooth with a good consistency.

In this places defence, we had been here before and food was actually pretty good. The service at the time was also excellent and we left a good review that time and a good tip. But I cant recommend this place after this experience after having paid close to 20k for the meal and drinks.

I sincerely hope the owners see this and do something about the standards of both the food and service. It is sad to see such a huge difference between visits. There are way better steak places in budapest and I'd advise anyone reading this to go somewhere else until the owners and managers have had some time to...

We went to Havana Salsa Bar with a group of six friends. Initially, we were seated at a table meant for four, which was quite cramped. After requesting a more suitable spot, we were eventually moved—but unfortunately to a table near the restrooms that was dirty and covered in crumbs. A waiter came by to take our drink orders, and one friend ordered both French fries and sweet potato fries—both arrived cold. On the upside, the drinks were refreshing. We decided to skip ordering food, though two of us tried the soufflé, which was decent. After dessert, our waiter completely disappeared. We had to go looking for him just to settle the bill. The atmosphere is lively, and the crowd leaned young, with several birthday and bachelorette celebrations happening around us. However, the music could use improvement—it wasn’t particularly Cuban, which seemed like a missed opportunity. Overall, the venue could benefit from major renovations and a thorough cleaning.

We went there on a Friday night. The ambience is nice, good live music and a modest dance show. Food is not very good, I asked the waitress for suggestions, she said that the South American meat was good and that the only true Cuban dish in the menu was not good. If we wanted to eat South American meat, we would have gone to an Argentinean restaurant... The overall feeling is that they lack personality, it's a Cuban bar, but they offer no Cuban food and played electronic music and Reggaeton most of the time. Drinks were very watery and overpriced. Food didn't feel very fresh either and was also a bit overpriced. Also, we had to wait a lot for the waitress... Overall, go if you wanna dance a little bit and have a couple of drinks but don't get your expectatives that high with the Cuban thing.
