Otthonka — Restaurant in Budapest

Otthonka is a cool place where locals hangout. Happened to go on an Open Mic night and it was good. Atmosphere was nice. Also they have multiple bathrooms.

Drinks are a little pricey, 1,600HUF for a Somersby Cider. The bartenders are quite slow and not good at making cocktails. Tried to order a Mojito and waited 15 mins only to find out they don’t have mint, so ordered a Cosmopolitan which they recommended and took another 10-15 mins. Drink quality is so-so.

We called this place to see if they could keep their kitchen open for us a little longer, since everything in Budapest was closed and we wanted some good food.

The owner was super nice, as he actually went down to the restaurant to tell the chef to keep open longer, and help in serving us many delicious pizzas and giving us beer and drinks.

Food was delicious, the staff were nice. The food came a little staggered so by the time the last meal arrived the other meals had already been eaten and desert ordered. The English in the menu was mistranslated a little. Entrées are actually main meals.
