First of all the restaurant states on the door closes at 9pm. I arrive on a recommendation from a tour to eat here for authentic food. I arrive 8pm to be told kitchen is closed, we close at 9pm but kitchen at 8pm make that make sense. I was told we will close kitchen in one minute you can only chose between two dishes this or this, mind you restaurant is full probably from your recommendations. I chose to stay as I was starving. Restaurant is full, I eat my meal it was okay my parents make better goulash & then I see desert Comming out for the guests next to me, I used to work in kitchens so this dessert was probably pre made in fridge. After my meal i asked if possible if I could get dessert was told no kitchen closed, I asked but these have just been bought out to the table next to me, reply was they were ordered before okay fair enough I’m a reasonable person I get it kitchen closed whatever it’s still 8.20 pm. So my bill comes I ask the waitress can you take off the service charge, she asks why ? Firstly why do I have to be asked why restaurants have started charging service charges & if people do not want to pay it’s their prerogative & choice. I do always normally pay it BUT in some circumstances I do not. I had no choice of food to choose, I felt rushed, I couldn’t order anything more it was basically in and out so I chose not to pay for service charge and then the waitress became defensive & argumentative why I should pay which put me off even more then she went to to manager talked aggressively about me in front of me for not paying a service charge like wtf after her behaviour i am glad I didn’t pay service charge, seriously what kind of BS behaviour is that, I was served food left as I had to. So for this BS I would not eat here again. Note change your sign to closes at 8pm it...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at this Kék Rozsa restaurant on April 7, 2025, during lunch time with my husband. We were served by a tall, thin, white waiter with a white goatee who was passive-aggressive with us. We had just arrived, we hadn't even opened the menu, and he came to ask us what we wanted to drink. Then he rushed us to choose our dishes. As we received the dishes from the Hungarian Menu, he didn't explain what each dish was. Since we are not Hungarian, we were confused while eating. When we finished, he quickly removed the dishes and asked if we wanted the bill, which we accepted. We paid the bill with the service charge, but he didn't serve us well. After paying the bill, we stayed at the table for a few more minutes using our cell phones to figure out where we were going next. We weren't using the restaurant's internet, but even so, the waiter kept looking at us the whole time, pressuring us with his eyes to leave quickly. The restaurant wasn't full so we thought it would be ok to stay there for a few minutes using our internet to decide where we would go after lunch. Anyway, the food was ok (I ate at better places after this restaurant), but the poor service was what ruined the experience, we don't...
Read moreHungarian atmosphere, friendly old school look inside, BUT!! First of all, the server was super rude, talking in a really unfruendly way when we were seated... Ohh wait, we weren't seated at all, only commanded to go upstairs. After ordering the food, she brought pickles and the firs course. Chicken broth and french onion soup. Both tasteless and spiceless. Main course was a deep fried pork meat, i mean deep fried pork plastic with rubber texture.. The side was a hungarian noodle with "lecso". The noodle was alright, but the "lecso" was tasteless again. Ordered some pickles too, surprisingly with a horrible taste. It was dry as the Sahara and genuinly worn the main characteristic of the previously chosen foods : NO TASTE AT ALL. All in all I would recommend you to skip this place from a distance.
The plates were full of food and put it on side, isn’t it obvious that it was horrible? It was 15 minutes for the server to react our signs!! The server answer for the pickles “we order the pickles, we don’t do it in our kitchen” are u serious?? Shame on you and shame on the whole kitchen. Awe should have stood up and just...
