My stay at the EST Grand Hotel Savoy was overall pleasant, though relatively basic. It’s a small hotel with narrow corridors, and the rooms are packed close together, so noise can be an issue. I could hear my next-door neighbour coughing, laughing, and making other sounds and was woken up by a garbage truck at 5 a.m. due to poor soundproofing. If you’re sensitive to noise, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
The fitness centre is the smallest and least equipped I’ve seen in any hotel claiming to have one. It’s also not accessible 24/7 – only from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. – so if working out is important during your stay, it’s worth considering other options. The check-out time is also earlier than most hotels in Budapest, at 11 a.m. instead of 12 p.m., so be aware of that.
On a more positive note, I was given a free upgrade to a spacious and pleasant room with good amenities. The slippers, for instance, were of higher quality than expected, and there was a TV with YouTube access – always a nice touch. While there are no complimentary water bottles in the room, tap water in Budapest is safe to drink, so it wasn’t an issue. The hotel’s central location is also convenient, with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby and excellent access to public transport.
I’d also like to highlight Irina at the front desk, who was exceptionally friendly and welcoming – definitely one of the highlights of my stay.
Would I recommend staying here? For a good price and a short stay, sure. But would I stay here again? Probably not, as Budapest offers better hotels for around the same price, or slightly more – but those are definitely worth...
Read moreEST Grand Hotel Savoy Budapest is located in Jozsef District close to Lujza Blaha Square where is metro and tram and you can go almost everywhere in Budapest from here. When we came for check-in, was very smooth with Krisztian and he explained everything what we wanted to know. Then we went to our room (634) located on the 6th floor and it was very nicely designed room with all you need for your 3 days trip. Maybe only the mattress was too soft for me but 100 people 100 tastes. The room was very quiet. In the bathroom the shower had very good strong pressure. The sauna and fitness room is also very good benefit in hotel and we used once. The breakfast was also good. You can find everything what you want from breakfast in the hotel. Every member from the staff was great and smiling which is also good in the morning. We also check-out very early so we couldn’t reach the breakfast time but Mr. Florian gave us breakfast to go and it was delicious on the way to the airport. Overall EST GHS is very good choice if you plan to go to Budapest and I can’t wait to come again in the future. Thanks to all members of the team it was really pleasure to stay on this magnificent place...
