There aren’t a lot of spots in Reykjavík that do halal, Indonesian food so Eldhus Iru is a welcome addition to the city. We ordered their stir fry egg noodles, one with prawns and one with chicken. The textures were on point and the dishes were permeated with familiar, delicious Indonesian flavours, so far north away from the Indonesian archipelago. The nuttiness from the high heat stir frying of the noodles really comes out deliciously. If you’re craving Indonesian flavours while in Iceland, Eldhus Iru in Reykjavík is your place!

I wish I had taken pictures of the food but I only realised I needed to relieve a review of this place after I had finished, which did not take long. I did, however save the sticker from the box so that I could put it in my folder of good places to eat oht and would know where to leave my review! The food is excellent. The portions were quite large. Each bite was amazing and very satisfactory.

Restauranten ligger i matmarkedet nær Sjøfartsmuseet og Whales of Iceland.

Indonesian food in Iceland! Was our final meal in Reykjavik before heading to the airport. Was hearty, fresh, and Halal! Loved every bite! My wife is a big fan of Indonesian food and I was a bit nervous (because I have had some not so great experiences with Thai food), but I was blown away by the flavors and the heat....
