SKY Bar — Restaurant in Reykjavik

Bad service, cannot recommend it at all, everything else would have been better than my experience... Me and my gf ordered the sandwich, which costed waay too much, especially because it was served with normal toast bread. Food quality did not come any where close to of the price. SERVED COLD FOOD! and the fries were as if they were boiled or heated up in microwave, just terrible.. Now to the service... For over 10 minutes after we closed our menu and trying to get eye contact with the waitresses (which we did minimum 5 times) they just ignored us and then finally 1 old lady (waitress) pointed at us and told someone else to go to us (while she wasn't busy with anything at all)... Then finally a young blonde teen who was acting as if she was too good for the job came to us with gum and chewing on it like crazy, taking our order (which even came wrong..).. I ordered the BLT while my gf had the chicken sandwich, then some other guy came and gave us wrong and didn't ask who ordered what, (i asked without tomatoes because I think they taste bad and they make other things have tomato like flavor, but ofc I got with tomatoes) so obviously he gave us wrong and the sandwiches had things on them which they didn't mention when asking and it was not in the description either (for an example onion). The view is definitely not worth it, even though it was nice... I can definitely say, that I will never go back to that restaurant. My gf has always a way of seeing a positive thing from every restaurant (because she is a waitress herself) but there was NOTHING positive about our experience.. Last words, I highly recommend going ANYWHERE else than...

Disrespectful behaviour around guests who have a voucher!!

We went to this restaurant 3 times, each time with a voucher. The first time everything was amazing, very kind waiter and we were allowed to order everything from the menu and had each one alcoholic drink included. The dinner was very nice. The second time they told us that we could order everything except the surf and turf. Okay that’s reasonable but this time no drinks were included. The third time (Valentines Day) was a total NIGHTMARE. This time we were only allowed to chose out of two different courses!!! No drinks were included and the waiters were really UNFRIENDLY. We asked two times if it would be possible to order out of the menu and explained that we have been in this restaurant before and were able to order what we wanted even with the voucher. The waiter told use in an very condescending way that we could take back the voucher and order what we wanted with the obligation to pay for it or choose one of the two dishes.

We choose a dish, I took the lamb and asked it to be cooked medium to medium rare. What I got were two pieces of the end of the filet cooked well done. It tasted HORRIBLY. Even though I had barely eaten half of it, nobody asked me if the meat was okay.

All in all I have to say I was very disappointed by the ignorant and arrogant way the waiters acted around us. It is a real pity that guests who have a voucher get treated so disrespectful.

The restaurant isn’t bad but the waiters are just very stressed and...

From the moment I sat my foot outside of the elevator I could feel something was off. The heatwave that struck my face as I took my first steps towards the restaurant was..well.. lets just say I’d rather eat my food inside a live volcano, its probably cooler. 11°c outside and raining so we were dressed accordingly,I could understand the heat if it was a hot day but it was not. The view was good , not as great as I’ve seen people say it was in other review but it did not compensate for the bad air at the restaurant.

Lets move on to service. very bad. Our tables were taken so we had to wait a bit to be seated. Not a disaster but worth mentioning. We got to order the drinks surprisingly fast but whats the use of that if it takes 25 minutes to get a drink. We had regular drinking glasses on the table but no water. We had to ask 3 times before FINALLY getting a bottle of water to our table. We were going to order desserts but got no attention from staff so we went out to get Ice cream instead.

Food: The food was the only thing keeping this visit from being a total disatser. Good food not the best I’ve eaten in Reykjavik but not the worst either. And the prices was okay, not cheap but cheaper than most restaurants aroud here. So if you dont mind being ignored by the staff and come here with shorts and a t-shirt you might have a better experience than I had. If not you should go somewhere else.

I know for sure that I’ll never eat here...
