I always gets fascinated by these obsolete names of the metropolitan cities and their history. The same goes with the Mumbai earlier called as "Bombay". What say!
I came across this place when there was a street food festival was happening at this place, OMG I just got drooled over the dishes that came in social media. Since then I was hoping to go to this place.
So I made my way into this place for lunch with my foodie buddies.
A BIT ABOUT THE PLACE :
Bombay brassiere with a decent Interior and a oppressive ambience. The entrance with many potted plants adds a lush vibe to the entrance of This place. The place also got some antique pieces like retro car toys, the historical phonogram gives a vintage feel overall.
Bombay brassiere lived up to its name by bringing the old Bombay feel in the food with a new twist in it. Let me mention Bombay brassiere not only serves the Bombay food but also some very strong flavours of Northern India.
A BIT ABOUT FOOD :
Started off with Preethy Murthy masala coke : Definitely a refreshing one, if you are a person who loves it strong , tell the staff before ordering.
STARTERS :
Karara gobi : A must try for all the vegetarians and non vegetarians out there, coz this is damn delicious. Street fried cauliflower with cheese dusted served with lehsun mirch dip.
Salim's Chicken baida roti : Definitely a true Bombay delicacy , the chicken n egg stuffed inside a Paratha. Generous amount of stuffings and full of flavours.
Chowpatty corn chat : A regular chat but adding corn made a twist which took it to the next level of awesomeness. Abundant flavours with noticable amount of imli that gave a very tangy flavour which immediately encountered by crunchy peanuts and potatoes. Great chat. Recommended.
MAIN COURSE :
SMOKED JODHPUR MUTTON : This name Holded me back. I ordered this with Chur Chur naan. Woah, What a combination. The Mutton was so tender and curry with full of flavours especially the laal mirch can be sensed. The Mutton with the naan added all the goodness to the whole bite.
BANANA LEAF COCONUT RICE : OMG! I tried this first time and was taken away by the coconut flavour of the rice. I recommend this for everyone who ever sees this review. I definitely come back for this.
DESSERTS :
amritsari Kulfa ,Sheera pops, Grandma's hot chocolate fudge.
You can easily go with any desserts in the menu everything fulfills all the needs after a heavenly meal here.

Read moreA vibrant Brassierie serving a menu with a modern take to Indian classics from all parts of the country. The space has a lovely vibe and has seating spread across different sections, bits of it on an outdoor balcony space, indoor seating is also spread across in different sections. The furniture & wall decor has a beautiful rustic feel to it.
They have a well equipped bar and they have interesting cocktails and mocktails to offer. As interesting as their drinks menu is, the food menu is even more delightful. The menu is a dream come true for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians who love Indian food. The food isn’t very hot and it is perfectly done to suit every palate. They have some new additions to their already loved menu 😀.
They also have some lovely Mumbai street food to offer on the menu 😬!! So gives you a slice of Bombay as the name suggests.
From the drinks menu I tried the G & J, a Gin and Jamun cocktail 😀, it was served with some pink Himalayan salt and looks super pretty and tastes amazing, not sweet and the Jamun does add a lovely Indian twist to the classic G&T.
For nibbling along with the drinks we got ourselves some: Karari gobi ( crisp and a must try!) Chargrilled vegetables and paneer tikka is also a good idea if you want something light. A friend and me were craving for something a little more filling, so we ended up getting the: Salims chicken baida roti is such a lovely take on the Kolkata style baida roti, you will surely crave for more if you share this one 😀😀. Rustic Mutton tikka is super delightful, tender meat and perfectly spiced. A must try!
Next I got myself another cocktail - Nagpuri Santra, so perfect with freshly squeezed orange juice 😀.
For the mains don’t miss out on the Lasooni Spinach, if you love spinach you can lick the bowl clean, so well done, thick garlicky goodness. The garlic lovers will agree so too 😀! Also don’t miss the crisp okra Salan, we loved the veggie dishes, n for a vegetarian to say so is sacrilege right!!? Not really, but yes we wiped it off clean as well. The Mutton lovers do get yourself a bowl of Smoked Jodhpur Mutton 😀!
For the dessert, my all time fav - Grandma’s Hot Chocolate Fudge, never disappoints and always gives you the warm feels 😀😀!!
It’s a fun place with so much of life and their food ensures you head out with a good...
Read moreI will start off my saying this place is a must visit. Offering an eclectic mix of cuisine from across India, this brasserie ups the game by giving the classic dishes a refined twist. This is nestled in a beautiful house which has a European feel to it. Love the green space. The crowd is niche too and adds to the charm of this place.
I started off my meal by ordering a Shikanji which took me back to my Delhi days and the shikanji we get around the Meerut belt. Love the way it is presented in a glass bottle.
Also love the way they serve the varied colorful cocktails in a desi style bottle and glass.
Coming to the food, we started off with the Papad Bowl which is a platter of assorted papads with different chutneys. This was tasty and a perfect start. A nice thing about their menu is the way they describe the items in detail making it easier for the customers to select what they would like to order.
Tried the following items:
Chowpatty Corn Chaat - Tangy and spicy ; this is a great guilt free snack Aam Papad Paneer - I haven't tasted a better paneer dish. This was again a perfect combo of sweet and sour. The paneer was soft and succulent. Chili Cheese Kulcha - Melts in your mouth Karari Gobi - Do not miss this ; even if you don't like cauliflower, you will end up becoming a fan of the vegetable ; love the crispy coating Chatka Choley Kulchey - This is the perfect North Indian tasting choley ; love the fragrant spices. Taste was bang on. The kulchey was stuffed with aloo and tasted heavenly. Kathi Paneer Masala & Roomali Roti - The paneer (served on a stick) was soft and the gravy was delicious.
What took the cake was the Amritsari Kulfa that we had for dessert. I am still drooling. Kulfi served on a bed of phirni and topped with rabri, falooda and rose syrup. It can't get better than this. Also tried the Grandma's hot chocolate fudge which was quite good too.
Service is quick and attentive. Portion sizes are quite good. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and quantity.
They have valet parking as well so finding a parking spot is no challenge.
Overall verdict - HIGHLY...
