Century Club — Restaurant in Bengaluru

I will give this club a 0 for their humanity. I was being followed and harassed by a random guy on the road. I had called the police a few minutes earlier to report the incident and the police told me to stay somehwere safe. The closest safety spot next to me was Century Club.

So I asked permission at the Century Club reception and security counter to park my car at the parking lot for safety, in case the guy found me again and broke into my car.

I was almost in tears when I approached the reception. When I approached the Century Club reception, the receptionist said without a membership number they will not let me park. Which I understand. So I called my friends and family who are members at the club and gave the receptionist two of their membership numbers. She denied entrance, made me wait for 1 hour and said I couldn't even pay and park as a guest. Which is obviously a lie. I repeatedly told her that I was being followed and she didnt even acknowledge it, and stared at me suspiciously like I was trying to break into the club. She sent security to take me away, when I was in tears, already in a state of shock. In my life, I have never been spoken to like this or treated this way. I was already traumatized, trying to deal with the shock of harassment from the random guy. And when I approached the club for help, especially when the receptionist was a woman, look at how I was treated. I am still in disbelief over this.

I am a member of 4 clubs in Bangalore-Bowring Institue, KGA, KSCA and Sadashivanagar Club. And the people at these clubs are lovely, helpful and kind. But Century Club, you need to train your staff or let go of the sort of people who make India unsafe. The sort of people who don't support women at a dire time of need. The lack of humanity here has left a permanent mark that I will never ever forget.

I am posting this review strictly based on my experience as an invited guest for dinner of a full time club member.

The club has an old time charm to it. Has a clean look architecture. The dining area next to the lawn is nice and open.

The food was pretty good. Lots of varieties. Chaats, starters - chinese and tandoor, north Indian, South Indian, chinese, continental. You even have Glens bakehouse within the campus for your desert cravings. The thing that surprised me was the sizzlers on the menu. So i ordered one Veg. Sizzler with pepper sauce. It was actually good. The only thing missing was some pilaf rice on the plate. You can see the pic. All the starter items were good.

But the issue I saw was the service. Not sure if they were short staffed, but they took a lot of time to wait our table in between orders. This is in-spite of a senior Executive committee member at our table. By the time my friends could order some food, both south Indian and chaats were closed. This was around 9:30pm and we weren’t informed. Hence the 4 star. The ambience and everything else is good in the open dinning area. Ofcourse be ready for some blood donation 🩸 since you will have mosquitoes keeping...

It is located near the KR circle. Here many events like Birthday parties and weddings are conducted. In this club veg and non-veg both are available at reasonable (good) prices.shri nalwadi Krishnaraja wadiyar sanctioned 7 acre 20 guntas land in cubbon park. The century club was started in 1917 and sir M Visvesvaraya was the first president of the century club. All the Mysore wadiyars birthday and punya tithi are celebrated here.many sports are available inside the century club such as billiards and tennis games and so on.The century club mainly contains Gym, library, parking area and so on. Some party halls inside the century club are sampige village, president lounge,wadiyar hall, Mysore hall, terrace, park view, bar in tone, and so on. It is 2 floor building which has become very famous in surrounding area for all parties. common people are not allowed here.they are allowed only for pharmacy.well and hygiene food available here and service is also good and servers are also good I highly suggest this club for birthday party, engagement and naming...
