Wanted a quiet family dinner after a long time, so booked at the Alto Vino , thinking it to be at the JW Marriott, but was mistaken and never really bothered to check the address. Landed at the JW and realized the mistake - since we had already arrived, headed up to Alba for our dinner. The restaurant was almost empty with just 1 other diner. We were seated at the elevated section. I have dined at ALBA before for the Manish Mehrotra popup and 2 other sit down dinners. The menu is decent and we settled down with our orders Crispy Halloumi in Kataifi, Citrus prawn , yellow tail crudo and Avocado cream, Aglio Olio Spaghetti for the kids, Orto E Olive, Asparagus Risotto , burrata and ricotta ravioli. The problems started soon after. Inspite of half the restaurant being empty - the food was painstakingly slow to arrive. Each course took its own time to make it to the table . When we were running out of time and decided to call it a day, and wanted the last 2 dishes to be cancelled, we were told they were already prepared ( waited 10 mins before and perhaps 10 mins after ) for the food to be packed. Having been part of 3 sit down dinners before this, there was a level of service that had set a bench mark and to fall shockingly lower than that was something that left a bad taste in the mouth. Not only did the risotto not make it in time, when we tasted it after going home, it wasn't really an enjoyable experience 40 mins later. It felt quite off. Having said that, apart from the slow service, the food was saving grace. The lemon prawn was fantastic, so was the pizza. I wish i wasn't subjected to such disastrous service standards for what had the makings for an otherwise fantastic family meal.

We visited Alba yesterday at JW Marriott after many years( more than 5 years) and we had such terrible experience. We were the only guest at the entire restaurant. The quality of the food was below average. We ordered Citrus prawns, plantain empanadas, Burrata salad, Burrata and Ricotta ravioli, seafood noodle and quail risotto. None of these dishes lived up to the expectations of five star dining and trust me we have dined at plenty of such restaurants in the last 20 years in Bangalore. Empanadas were nothing closer to what empanadas are meant to be, the burrata salad was flat interms of taste no texture to the salad. The seafood pasta was smelly to say the least, prawns were mushy. Coming to risotto - I have never had such horrible risotto in my life. It was uncooked and lacked any flavour and seasoning plus the quail wasn’t fresh and it was on the plate for namesake. The server made no attempts to explain whether the dish we ordered was a cold dish or hot and the citrus prawns came in a broth. I shared the feedback with another server since the previous one did not bother returning to the table when we told her that we were in no mood for desserts. Other server did confirm the chef was new and he did mention that the old chef had left. All in all a very bad experience and very disappointing especially since we were celebrating a special occasion. I don’t think we will ever step foot at this place ever again. The restaurant is part of JW Marriott. The place looks fantastic and as soon as you walk in you are struck by the terrific architecture,.5 star for sure. I was staying at the hotel so made sense to try it out. The service was decent, not to intrusive but attentive. The started us off with the focaccia, presentation was great but it was too soft kinda like pav bhaji bread, tasted ok I was expecting something a bit more dense. But the tomato pesto it came with was amazing!! We ordered Mr. Crostini for starters, it comes with 3 toppings, tomatoes, mushroom and spinach - all tasted great. I would have preferred the bread be more hardy like a French roll or something else - seems to be theme. I ordered the pounded chicken Milanese which came with fettuccine and pesto sauce. The marinara sauce on the chicken was not made well but the breaded chicken was made well. Overall the dish tasted reasonable. My fellow diners had a thin crust pizza - it is a big size, would recommend sharing. We also ordered spinach casoncelli which is a stuffed pasta - this one the portion was small but it was perfect. We were quite full so didn't order desserts. Would recommend for a special occasion or if you are looking to splurge a bit (Rs 5000 for three). I'd rate the food at 3.5 but place/ambience a 5.

Hiya🙋🏻Lets Begin! So here i am visiting alba for the very first time & i am blown by this place. We will come to tht now. Ambience:Pure italian white marble.Open concept.Full length windows. The Opulent!Grandeur exuberates!Chic & contemperary.A seperate seating after each step kind of ur own personal booth & very pvt.The chandliers are the center piece at every point.Pvt seatings for family celebrations. Each part of the restaurant translates into a story tht starts to weave the magic even bfre the food arrives. Staff:Outstanding, stupendous service.Very attentive👏 Chef:Chef Eliyas has curated a special menu i am told and its new age.It focusses on healthy italian food. Food:Burrata cheese:The people of puglia have been enjoying burrata for decades the world has just been intorduced to this delight in recent years. This can be enjoyed with anything. This has the sweetness of san marzano tomatoes and thicker and so less acidic and the rocket leaves are flash marinated to retain the crunch & the texture in balsamic. White onion mushroom soup with olive powder, crispy herbs & kalamata olives. This comes in the list of notable soup. This is a decadent soup.Dried, dark, woody add potent aroma and depth and enliven by the sweetness of the white onion. It has the rich velvety smoothness, the porcini mushrooms are delicate in flavour.Piece de resistance are the fresh herbs which r fried in extra virigin olive oil. Textures of parmeasean:This has celery sauce, toasted hazel-nut tht adds the crunch & the feather light tortelloni stuffed with parmeasean has love written all over it. Red pumpkin & zuchini paired:Woah! This is a pumpkin flan.It has the sweetness of the pumpkin with the zuchini cream.I can hv this dish for an entire week, dont hv to ask me twice. This sends out cozy scent at the table the nice taste of total comfort food Beetroot risotto:Beets hv an earthy taste.Firstly the right rice carnaroli sets the oomph of robust flavours and the salted ricotta hits u at the end like a wake-up call.Literally! Panacotta:This is serious stuff. The beauty of pannacota it takes flavours of whtever u infuse it with. The washed and dried basil leaves, the zest of lemon, the aroma of the vanilla bean some tang from the buttermilk and the cacao sponge adds depth.Stellar! Price factor:4000rs for 2 without alcohol. Should u visit? The emphasis is on healthy italian. And chef eliyas sure makes a statement with the same.U can eat light and walk a mile,or u can eat heavy & sit awhile.Which side of the line r u on?As they say in italian when ur hungry si mancha(meaning)time to eat & plz dolce-niente(relax)ho affame(meaning)good...
