Disappointing Experience with Unnecessary Rules and Poor Quality
I recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Here are the key points that stood out negatively:
Unnecessary and Unrealistic Rules The restaurant enforces many rules that feel unnecessary and overly restrictive. For example, customers are not allowed to go upstairs, and wearing shorts is prohibited. Such regulations make the atmosphere uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
Uncomfortable Seating and Table Design The seating arrangement and table design were very uncomfortable. It felt like the layout was not thought through for customer comfort, which affected the overall dining experience.
Poor Food Quality and Portion Size The quality of the food, especially the main courses, was very disappointing. The ingredients seemed cheap, and the taste was far from authentic, particularly for the Bengali dishes which lacked their original flavor and instead had a bad taste. The portion sizes were also very small, definitely not suitable for adults. For instance, I ordered chicken chap, but it came with just a tiny piece of bone and was priced ridiculously high.
Health Concerns Worse still, the food served appeared spoiled and old, which caused me health issues after my visit. This is a serious concern regarding the restaurantâs hygiene and food safety standards.
Unjustified Charges The restaurant also imposes a mandatory service tax, which felt completely unjustified given the poor service and food quality.
Poor Washroom Conditions The washroom was extremely dark and unsafe, posing a risk of falls and serious injuries. This adds to the overall negative impression of the establishment.
Conclusion Overall, this restaurant fails to deliver on multiple frontsâfrom uncomfortable seating and restrictive rules to poor food quality and hygiene concerns. The high prices do not justify the subpar experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant and authentic...

Read moreWellâafter hearing so much about this place, I finally visited with my family. Honestly, my experience was mixed.
Whatâs good? Food Quality: If youâre craving Bengali cuisine with a modern twist, this place delivers. The food quality is genuinely very good. Portion Size: They offer both half and full portions. However, be mindful that their definition of âfullâ is smaller compared to many other restaurants, though the pricing is aligned accordinglyâso no complaints, just a heads-up. For instance: we ordered a full portion of fish fry and got six quarter-sized fish cubes. Similarly, the egg devil came as one boiled egg sliced into four pieces, each with a thick layer of potato. Drinks: Decent optionsâtried their mocktails and lemonade, which were perfectly fine.
Whatâs NOT good (in my opinion): Atmosphere: The JP Nagar outlet is quite spacious, but surprisingly, there is no air-conditioning! While Bangalore weather is pleasant, it certainly doesnât feature year-round snowfallâso during lunch hours, the space felt very stuffy and uncomfortable. To make it worse, there were no alternative cooling optionsâno tower fans, no power coolersânothing. Do keep this in mind if youâre planning a visit. Service: The staff seemed to think that having a QR code on the table substitutes for actual service. The âcall waiterâ feature didnât work, and we had to repeatedly request basic things like water refills, cutlery replacements (our table wasnât set properly to begin with), and even the bill. This was a major turn-off.
Other Notes: Valet parking is good and spaciousâno complaints here.
Bottom line: If you want to enjoy their tasty food, I would honestly recommend ordering via Swiggy or Zomato. Itâs much better than enduring the âsteamyâ, mostly self-service dining experienceâunless you particularly want to combine your meal with a steam room/sauna...
