Their staff is extremely courteous. Right from the entrance desk to the service staff, all of them serve you with a smile on their face. The service speed is pretty decent and it all makes for a great dining experience.
We started off with the Peppery Lemon Chicken Soup (8.5/10). It was a clear soup without the unnecessary cornflour and thus you could feel the freshness throughout. The vegetables still had a bite to them and weren't overcooked, along with generous pieces of chicken. One of the best things about it was that it was light and thus we had a lot of space to continue hogging. Next we ordered the Thai Chicken Dumplings (9/10) and Veg Basil Dumplings (8.5/10). I loved the chicken ones because you could actually taste the chicken in it unlike the ones where you have to search for the chicken between shreds of cabbage. The veg ones were also good and catch your eyes in terms of looks. They were soft and my mouth just waters by their thought. Next came the Pan Fried Chilli Fish (9/10), Jiang's Chilli Chicken (8/10), Crispy Lotus Stem Black Pepper Dry (8.5/10) and Crackling Spinach (8.5/10). The fish was my favourite as I love sweet and spicy flavours and it had the perfect mix of both. Plus, it was cooked very well. The chilli chicken was nice, but with the other dishes being so good, this is something that you can get everywhere. Moving on to the vegetarian items I loved the one with the spinach. It was again slightly sweet but cooked so beautifully. In spite of being fried, it didn't lose its green colour and thus kept its nutritional value. Therefore, you can think about it as even being a healthy option :p.
In terms of drinks, I really loved their Lychee and Kaffir Lime Mojito (9.5/10). This has to be one of the best cocktails that I've ever tasted. Slightly on the sweeter side, the freshness of lychee and kaffir lime resonated throughout this drink. I couldn't help but leave my food and sip this delicious yet slightly tipsy drink. The other drinks that I tried were Mandarin and Basil Mojito (8.5/10) and Mango Colada (8.5/10). The Mango Colada tasted really fresh and the flavour of mango was there throughout the drink. Would recommend everyone to try this one especially during this season of mangoes. The Mandarin and Basil Mojito was also good, but average as compared to the lychee one. Regardless, the flavour of basil was extremely good, and really freshened the taste buds up. Thus, it works well if you're eating something as it helps keep the palate clean and fresh.
Coming to the main course, we tried Chicken in Sichuan Chilli Sauce (8.5/10), Fish in Oyster Sauce (9/10), Ginger Capsicum Fried Rice (8/10) and Japanese Wheat Noodles Veg (9/10). The rice was fine and didn't have any particular flavour, but complemented both the fish and chicken gravies very well. I loved the fish which was very light, and had a subtle flavour which made the fish meat in itself stand out, and not the overwhelming array of spices. The chicken was good too, and would be a great option if you like your dishes spicy, and also in case you are not very fond of eating fish. Even though it was vegetarian, and I usually don't eat vegetarian outside, I loved the Japanese Wheat Noodles. Not only were they healthier than the regular noodles, the texture was really good and added a sense of bite to them, which was rather pleasant. These were also flavoured mildly with garlic and chillies, and I would recommend everyone to try this dish once as this can be had without any gravy.
Coming to the desserts, we had some Honey Noodles with Ice Cream (8.5/10) and Chocolate Rolls (7.5/10). The honey noodles or Darsaan, was really good, and I've only had the perfect Darsaan at Mainland China. Combined with vanilla ice cream, this dish always tastes good and if you want to satisfy your cravings for this particular dessert, then you have to come here. The chocolate roll even though was good lacked something. I guess it was slightly incomplete as a standalone dessert and that the chocolate inside could be gooey rather than...
Read moreI say that we are lucky enough to exchange our cultures with China beyond our borders even in these tense conditions. My craving for Chinese food made me visit this leading Chinese food chain in India at their Church street outlet ,by this time I guess most of you guys reading through this review know where Church street is ! :)
The ambience is good ,located on level one ,you have elevator service ,greeted by samurai statues and the at the top the outlay of table and chairs which are comfortable to sit on ,the lighting is a bit dim which is on par with all the Chinese restaurants in the town , basically the ambience is good ,with having takes of China on the walls ,Buddha statues on a rack and also with Chinese pots for decoration !
I was greeted here with their new menu ,man I got to say that this new menu is an absolute bomb ,its soo good !
Started my evening here by soup named Peppery Lemon veg soup ,the vegetables were cooked to perfection and I love my vegetables bit on the harder side ,yes they nailed it ,the soup base is flavoured with herbs and lemon ,the soup was good overall
Start your evening with a cup of Chinese tea !
Let's speak about the starters now, the highlight of the Chinese restaurant ,corn and water chestnut domains ,yum ,it's again cooked exactly how I like my dimsums ,not too soggy or not too stiff ,the filling is not too spicy ,I can say that Mainland China servers authentic Chinese dimsums .
Dynamite tofu ,cheese were like cheese pops but tofu instead ,sweet, spicy and hot ,just loved it ,this thing pops open in your mouth and all the tofu goodness amplifies the flavour ,good stuff .
The main source was also from the new menu , Japanese wheat noodles ,my first experience with wheat noodles ,well it's pretty good ,but someone who craves for the maida based noodles aren't satisfied , but the flavour and the duration is cooking is perfect .
The noodles was accompanied by mixed vegetables chilli basil sauce ,this actually amplified the taste of noodles a lot ,the sauce had this perfect consistency and flavour ,the sauce alone could be eaten ,meaning to say it was perfect .
Ginger and Capsicum fried rice ,this is one the dishes which would really suit the Indian pallet , even though Chinese ,I felt this fried rice was a little Indianised ,again tried with veg stir fried asian green vegetable sauce ,the sauces here at Mainland China just remarkably changes the taste of the noodle or the rice into something better and great!
The desserts are to really crave about here ,we were suggested to go with mango pudding, man this is crazy good ,I just finished the entire portion by myself , it's served with mango puree ,just yum !
The chocolate dome is another dessert where hot chocolate sauce is poured upon to open the goodies inside the dome , consisting of walnuts ,brownie and chocolate ! YUM !
The mocktails were suggested by them ,I would say anyone who goes here please do not come back without trying the LYCHEE-BASIL MOCKTAIL ! BRILLIANT. ! :)

Read moreThe leading food chain in India when it comes to Chinese food, Mainland China from the Speciality brand chain doesn't fail to amaze me every time I visit them. Last night I dined here with a bunch of friends, tried their new menu and the end result? I was left drooling and I'm craving for another visit already. It was high time they got their best menu up and I was probably lucky enough to taste it. The place was very peaceful yesterday with a light music playing the background. Very courteous management and staff made the experience even cherishing. Here goes my experience of this amazing place,
🔶Highlights of the place🔶
▪️Dimmed Lighting and Ambiance- Perfect for a Chinese themed restaurant. ▪️Appetizing Starters and Main course ▪️Sinful Desserts ▪️Courteous service ▪️An amazing new menu. ▪️Pricing on the higher side
🔶What I loved n will recommend?
🔸Crispy Lotus Stem with Curry leaves and Black pepper- Probably the best Lotus stem dish I've had till date, perfectly made to impress the Indian Taste buds. 🔸Corn and Water Chestnut Dimsums- This is probably the best Dimsums I've tasted in Bangalore. The combination of Corn and Water Chestnut did wonders. 🔸Cottage Cheese with Chilli n Soya- A perfect mix match of Chilli and Soya sauce stir fried with Paneer was really tempting to each one of us at the table. 🔸Corn and Potato Tsing Hoi Style- A perfect Accompaniment to the super healthy Japanese Wheat Noodles. 🔸Chocolate Dome With warm Chocolate sauce- The toothsome serving is huge and it takes only a foodbeast to finish this entire portion all by himself. 🔸Lychee and Basil quencher- Probably the best lychee based mocktail I've had in recent times, the lychee and basil mix was a treat to the tastebuds.
🔶What I would ask them to improve?
🔸The Pineapple and Ginger Frappe Mocktail needs some improvement when it comes to the ratio, wasn't appealing to me. 🔸Dynamic Tofu would have been a big hit if it was a little bit more spicier
🔶Other things I had with no complaints/compliments:
🔹Soup: Peppery Lemon Soup 🔹Main course: Veg Stir Fried Asian Green, Mixed Vegetables Chilli Basil sauce, Ginger n Capsicum Fried rice. 🔹Desserts: Mango Pudding 🔹Mocktails: Mandarin Swirl, Mint storm
Overall a very satisfying experience. As i said I am surely coming back for trying out other stuff on their new menu. Highly recommended for people having some cravings for Chinese food. The food looks expensive but the fact that there is Zomato gold present makes it super value for money. Do try their Home-made sauces which are up for sale as well, quite amazing. A big thumbs up for Mainland China and Specialty group.
