Pegs n Bottles, located on Church Street, offers a unique standing bar experience with a variety of liquor sold at the MRP, making it a popular choice among patrons. Upon arrival, we were informed of a cover charge of 200 if we chose to drink inside the bar area, which seemed reasonable considering the vibrant ambiance and live music setting.
The menu featured an assortment of starters and main courses at a reasonable price, and we were pleasantly surprised by the fair portion sizes and their pricing, ensuring everyone at the table left satisfied. The live music added an enjoyable touch to the overall atmosphere, creating a lively and energetic vibe throughout the evening.
One aspect we appreciated was the request we made to the staff not to ask for instant reviews with their names, allowing us to enjoy our time without feeling pressured. However, there is room for improvement in terms of service. While the staff was friendly, we noticed some delays in getting our orders taken and served promptly. Addressing this aspect could significantly enhance the overall dining experience.
Another area that could be improved is air ventilation. The indoor seating area felt a bit stuffy and lacked adequate airflow, especially during peak hours when the bar was crowded. Ensuring proper ventilation will undoubtedly enhance the comfort of patrons and encourage them to stay longer.
Despite the areas for improvement, we enjoyed our visit to Pegs n Bottles and will consider returning in the future. The combination of fair prices, generous portion sizes, and live music makes it an appealing choice for a fun evening out. By addressing the service and ventilation issues, this already fantastic standing bar could further elevate its status as a preferred hangout spot...
Read moreA cozy and centrally located spot on Church Street, within walking distance of the metro station (Church Street exit). The concept is different and intriguing—you walk into a liquor store upon entry, pick up your drinks, and head into the standing bar. For a small entry fee per head, you can enjoy your drinks alongside a snack of your choice. The bar is compact and vertical in layout, with a separate smoking room for added convenience.
You also have an option of dining at their resto bar upstairs where you can dine and drink and I’ve heard the food is good and they’ve got you covered with a lot of offers on beer and wings. One can keep themselves posted on the same through Pegs&Bottles’s social media handles.
While the atmosphere and concept are great, the hygiene levels were disappointing. I noticed cockroaches near the sofa seating, which is a major concern. I strongly urge the management to prioritize cleanliness and address this issue immediately.
Despite this setback, it’s a good spot for a quick drink, pre-gaming, or casual...
Read moreRead carefully before visiting. You may have heard about this place via Instagram/ friends circle but know the entire story first.
They DO NOT sell liqour on MRP. They levy 20 - 25% tax on the bottles you buy. This place has been rumored to sell at MRP they actually do not.
The food - 5 out of 5. Excellent. Tasty. Well served. Fresh. Worth it.
Staff- 5 out of 5. Very well behaved, friendly, quick service, pleasant.
Issues-
Since at first glance it looks like a budget friendly deal, you will notice lot of locals at the place. Unfortunately, the "crowd" is often not pleasant. There were drunk and out men everywhere, bit of catcalling, commenting on stuff, weird looks, etc. Dont expect excellent vibes.
Men have to wear closed shoes to enter. I know this is a norm in many clubs but makes no sense. Its not a sports club or golf club. But anyway since its a so called rule by the establishment, good to know before going.
Lounge is well decorated but tiny, too claustrophobic. Could be bigger.
Overall 3 out of 5....
